[NEW] September 10, 1969 Flashed a number of times at the end of the movie. After watching the movie for the 4th time today, I noticed at the far right hand corner of the screen the date flashed on and off. It was while the credits rolled and just a hair before the ROAR! overture started up.
It has to be a clue because it is so out of place with dates and times in the film.

Third time I've tried to post this. Connection times out.
Project Rullison.
September 10, 1969, U.S. Government detonates a 41 kiloton A-bomb under a mountain in Grand View Colorado...for some reason.

I noticed this too, though only the '1969' bit so I was like "WTF? I didn't mind the change to May, but 1969!?".
Anyways, I'd agree that it has to have some significance, but the only things I could find on that date were: Johnathon Schaech and Matt Geiger were born, some letters:

And the most relevant:

But that's it really.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybe it's Abrams' clue to what kind of bomb hit Manhattan.

Project Ruhson was an experiment conducted jointly by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and Austral Oil Company to test the feasibility of using a nuclear device to increase natural gas production in low permeability geological formations. The experiment was conducted on September 10, 1969, and consisted of detonating a 43-kiloton nuclear device at a depth of 2,568 meters (m) (8,426 feet [ft]) below the ground surface (DOE, 1994).

whatever you would find online would be in game and not something real right? That's how it's been working so far.

Well perhaps it relates to Tagruato. I checked and in 1969(no date on despoiler) Tagruato:
Quote:
is commissioned to build satellite and launch vehicle parts for the recently introduced National Space Development Agency (now the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency).

Maybe one of the influences that led to the creation to this movie, similar to hiroshima and godzilla.

I'm thinking it might have to do with the Chaui station.
maybe they used explosives in the ground to try and get more oil out, just like what the army was doing in 1969, and woke up the MGP

Well now that I have looked a little deeper with the project Rullison thing and the first 10 pages of google news results for Sept 10, I'm pretty sure the most likely thing is that it is related to Chuai and how they probably were nearing the end of the supply of SBN and so in an attempt to find more they used an explosive in a similar way to Rullison. Purely speculation of course. Unless the next pic on 1-18-08 is timestamped like 9-10-69 and is of something. IDK. All spec at this point.

Wikipedia mentions that NASDA was established in 1969 on the JAXA page, however there's no mention anywhere of the exact date.
And about the Rulison thing, do you think that maybe Tagruato did something similar? I don't know how they'd have have access to nuclear weapons, maybe they used something else, but the aim of the project was something I could see Tagruato doing.
I think the Rulison thing has to be what they were referring to as I remember that sequence in the credits had these pictures of documents flashing around (one of which was the one with the date on it), and the government's not gonna have documents on the birth of Johnathon Schaech or anything like that.
