The possibility of this being real scares me to the core. A sequel to Cloverfield would ruin everything cool about it.

hey, I'm not too sure if this was brought up yet, but if it was, forgive my slow reaction time. Anyway, I went onto the-n's official site and surfed the message boards and found this:

oh man the N message board is hilarious. Becuase this comercial thing has been around since before the movie was released in any for I doubt its for a sequal as cool as a sequal would be. Just to sum up here are some facts I can think of for and against a sequal:

I think ive seen something similar to that....I was watching ghostbusters last week on vh1 and during the commercials it like got all fuzzy and then started to play a news report from the movie....about the tremors....ten it started showing small 5sec clips of the movie then it just said "Cloverfield 1-18-08"...so I dunno....never saw it after that

I just called my ex-girlfriend because she watches Degrassi and she said she saw plus people are also talking about it on yahoo answers. So maby still not completely convinced it is for a sequel.

If the the account of the commercial from that fantastic you tube video is accurate, then this is whats said. (I have no idea if this account is true or not, just spec)

If you ask me, this looks like a conversation between two parties. Most likely one between team Rob/Beth, and Lilly. Possibly using the communication system from the crashed helicopter they were able to make contact with Lillys helicopter, or vice versa.

I don't know. Maybe thats just what I want it to be.

Quite frankly, I'm not on board with this whole "anti sequel" campaign. I totally understand the viewpoint of people who are saying this, but personally after 6 months I am not willing to let this go that easily. I want more. Im not done with this, and I bet JJ and crew are not either.

What if they were secretly making the sequel at the same time they were making this Cloverfield. That would be freaking crazy.

If this is done the way I think it will be....there won't be a(any) sequels in the traditional sense, ie no Cloverfield 2, etc.
I do believe since this thing has made a LOT of cash on it's opening weekend...that there will be more movies with the Cloverfield monster in them. I hope this is the case...just like Godzilla, no sequels, just more chapters in that universe.
