The toy isn't coming out until October, but they mention the movie release. Think maybe they are releasing the DVD in October? That'd be just in time to be a good Halloween movie. Also means it'd in the early Christmas shopping season.

Just wondering, is there no picture on the Hasbro site or is my computer being stubborn about loading images today?

And we need to remember that this toy is a LIMITED collector's edition. I'm sure they'll have cheaper ones out as well.

Hmmm...I hope they don't wait that long for the DVD.
It seems that over the past few years, DVDs have been coming out about 4 months after the theattrical release.
So, I'm hoping the DVD comes out in May.

I think he is referring to the actor as the action figure.
I am definitely pre ordering one of these right now! I wish I could see the packaging though so I knew if I needed to order two or one. One if it is visible enough from outside, two if not. Oh well I'm sure that when the DVD comes out we will have a better pic of the monster and so the pic of the toy will be released. I'm so excited! I actually want a parasite life size! Hmm. I could make a Styrofoam one! lol. Or a robotic one since I go to a very very nerdy school lol.

Now thats funny!
Looks like I will be getting my wife a toy for our 10 year anniversary. Oh, and one of these monster figures too
October does seem like a long time to wait for a DVD. It would generate more sales if coincided with the release of the toy. Another possibility to consider is what IF there is a sequel? How important would be the timing of these 3 releases (toy, DVD, sequel). Paramount could easily double ticket sales if they waited to release all three in a calculated release date. Think of all the people who will wait on the DVD release to see the movie. Then hit them up with the sequel and some toy swag, then BAM, they could pull them in to the theater with the rest of us and Paramount is rolling in the money. Just a thought.

I was really hoping for a McFarlane run of all of the characters, the parasites, and the monsters. God knows they'd be awesome, and we could set up giant scenes in our living rooms that our significant others would despise (because McFarlane's characters would undoubtedly be in action poses, because McFarlane toys dominate)
Check out the new McFarlane Don Corleone:
Or this Jack Frost figure that's on my mantle:
And just for the hell of it, check out Joe Montana:

McFarlane is the pinnacle of toy figure making IMO, although they usually are not very posable, which may have caused the choice to use Hasbro. However, I still hope that sometime in the future McFarlane will make a few figures, but I think Hasbro will be the main line for the public.
