This has been discussed before, forums are being slow so I don't want to search for the original thread, the thing being thrown is a hummer, you can see it has wheels and is hummer shaped. As for if Lily made it is up to speculation, but we never see her die, and Rob doesn't list her as people that have died at the end, so the correct answer is "maybe."

I don't know about everyone else but Im still wondering about Rob and Beth. My mind says that they had very little to no chance but Im kind of hoping they lived. Anyone else wondering too or is the general consensus that they're dead.

Technically speaking the only one you could be reasonably sure of being dead is Hud. He's bloodied and not moving when Rob picks up the camera. The rest you can assume are dead (save lilly) but cannot be 100% sure. Jason falls from the bridge, Marlena is behind a curtain (another bite victim who has burst is being taken in on a stretcher, not body bag so could be alive), Lilly's helicopter takes off (though I cannot say the object thrown is a hummer it comes from the right, not from above as the helo would) and Rob and Beth are not seen after the first explosion.
Though the opening states that the government finds the camera, meaning most likely not turned over, that could just mean Rob and Beth being unconscious when they are found and cannot tell them about the camera.

I'd like to know the rationale behind Lily (seemingly) being the only one to make it out. I'd like to hear what Reeves / Abrams have to say about this.

I posted this in another thread about Hawk and ill put it here too. Theres no way hed survive a fall from that height into the water. Hitting water from that height is the equivelant of hitting concrete from the same height. Hed be dead on contact. And anyone thats seen a certain episode of Mythbusters knows exactly what im talking about. From that height you hit the water with a force of over a hundred g's ( G force.) Between 50 -75 Gs is lethal to a human. I know in the other thread i stated the impact would be around 80 g's but i went back and looked and i was underestimating the force.

In the Matt Reeves interview (linked in a post here somewhere but search is not usable atm) he states that only 2 people are confirmed to be killed in the movie.

He makes this statement when asked about a sequel. Those 2 people of course being Marlena and Hud. Which is a shame because Hud was by far the best character in the entire movie.
