I believe you are speaking of Chris Mullkey's character, the one that tells Hud to turn the camera off. I did see him go over some paperwork as he was barking his commands, but I didn't get a good enough look. It could very well have had something on it that would tell us something. Multiple viewers should keep an eye out for that.

IMO, NASA is more likely than not to have spotted the "Coney Island Splash" on their radar (especially in this post 9/11 NYC), sent in a team to investigate (surreptiously, of course), and may have been secretly studying this event, planning on harvesting their 'discovery' - until that 'discovery' woke up all cranky and began leveling Manhattan..! ...

I plan on seeing the movie in theaters again sometime soon. I'll keep an eye out for that document.

Yeah I'm fairly positive that the papers are from NASA becase I have the movie recorded on my phone (yeah I know, it's wrong), and the guy behind the computer hands one of the other guys some documents and the logo on the outside of them is blue with white writing in the middle, just like NASA.I would put a pic up but I don't know how and I don't want anyone on my case lol.Gotta be what it is.

The logo on the folder definitely looks like the NASA logo.

NASA was born out of (my beloved) USAF. They've got an experimental design of most of the current fighters and attackers. Don't know much about NASA, but I would guess that they monitor most of the satellites in orbit.

Maybe they thought that the sattelite that fell into the water had something to do with it.

My bet is that if it was NASA on the papers, it wasnt because of the satelite. If a city is getting attacked by a big monster, I doubt they would be called in at that time to investigate a satelite that fell before it all happened. So that leaves the question why would NASA be involved with a big monster attack? The only thing that seems logical to me is they saw the monster coming from space, but there have got to be other possible reasons than that. Unless the splash was the monster.

The monster didn't come from space, it came from the water... The satellite fell down, I think a month, before the monster attacked. If you watch those Chuai videos you see the Tagruato drill rig fall apart, supposedly from a T.I.D.O. terrorist attack, and you see special op looking Tagruato agents come to the rescue... I think the monster was being kept at bay underneath the oil rig, and when it fell apart the monster was possibley set free. I'm pretty sure the satellite has something to do with everything, but just not sure yet.

Why the hell would NASA be working on this thing?

I guess on suspicion of it being an alien.
