 		It actually looks very BSG-ish.

I ran a whois of the site. Nothing special, except it was registered by a company called MarkMonitor (http://www.markmonitor.com/). Is there any method to find out what other domains this company registered?

agreed. I mean what could there be to make an Star Trek arg 'real' in our time? I mean, it's JJ. Perhaps the side effects of Seabed's Nectar spawned a virus in our future, playing a role in the movie, and the unknown company that was denied funding by the Dyson Trust managed to get a hold of the tachyon camera developed at EniTech, and are showing top secret images from the NCC's construction platform.
Maybe?

I mean, what are we seeing on NCC-1701.com, why is it there, and why is it readily available to the public? Methinks it'll be more just viral than ARG... though I do hope for the latter. And heck, time travel was rampant in Star Trek. It could come into play here too, who knows.

MarkMonitor looks to be the registrar and is in the business of brand protection. The site is registered directly to Paramount:
http://whois.domaintools.com/ncc-1701.com

As far as finding out what other domains a person has registered, the only feasible way I'm aware of is using DomainTools Registrant search. For example, from the link on the above domain search (' "Paramount Pictures" owns about 386 other domains' ), here is a link to a search on Paramount:
http://www.domaintools.com/registrant-search/?&and[]=Paramount+Pictures
You get a glimpse of what may be there, but you have to pay to see the results.

Does he really need to? I mean, he could post videos of himself (or better yet, Kirk) brushing his teeth and people would buy into it sight unseen (the buzz would be tremendous).

Personally, I see a Lost tie-in here (starship travels back in time, hits an airplane, crew quickly beams as many survivors to the holodeck as possible before the plane crashes in order to maintain whatever directive it is that says thou shalt not go messing about with the space-time continuum).

 		True... but we want an ARG Wink.

Now I think generally speaking, if he were able to somehow tie in all his IP with some common plot element, that would be brilliant - so many separate plots, genres, stories, all actualy connected in the same universe... an ultimate "franchise".
But alas, that would upset quite a number of people Razz
I just want to see Slusho make a cameo appearance in the movie, then I'll be happy, hehe

Yeah, I don't imagine the Star Trek people would be too thrilled with something like that (is it still Paramount?). It *would* be awesome, however, to see Kirk enjoying a Slusho... ^.^

 		Forget about that. Star Trek is Paramount, LOST is Disney. A joint venture for an ARG would be highly inlikely in my opinion.

It's all falling into place now.

If that line does *not* appear in the trailer, I'm going to boycott the thing. It's Star Trek, one should always expect a certian amount of psudo-scientific technobabble. Indeed, it's a staple of the franchise.

You'll have to settle for the picture of George Takei drinking Slusho, I'm afraid.

...but if we were going for the ultimate tie-in, the cameras that captured these shots would be labeled "Enitech".
