Date Confusion?
April? May? January?

I couldn't find this covered anywhere else, though I may have missed something.

From all of the viral marketting, it seemed like the movie was gonna take place on the release date, aka the night of January 18th. All the myspace posts indicated that on January 18th, Lily was having a go-away party for Rob and people were confirming that they were gonna go. I remember Beth saying that she'd probably make it a bit late.

In the movie, the two dates that I saw were April and May. April being the day Rob & Beth spent together and May being the "present time." Does anyone have any explenations for the dates differing?

This inconsistency has been discussed at great lengths since the first airings of the movie last week. I'll let the more experienced folks provide some links to the other threads.

My take on the situation: Poor communication between the movie folks and the viral marketing folks. The movie folks were TOO secretative about the script and all the marketing folks had to go by was the 1-18-08 date for the movie release.
