[SPEC] The Queen could be (based on) Captain Greene?

Well, first of all, we know that in the Halo universe, AIs are based on human brain patterns of important people. Moving on to more specific evidence-

-Captain Greene is female:

Quote:
Capt. Greene: I'm not... I'm not sure.

1st Lt. Sorenson: Ma'am?

-Captain Greene and the Queen share ways of speaking:

Quote:
Capt. Greene: Don't feel too sorry for / them, Rolf. Even Admirals have to earn their pay.

[SPDR: PROBE COMPLETE]
[RESUME CONTROL]

going to pay DAMN IT

It's kind of like the Queen is feeling the residual memories of her "old life" and speaking accordingly.

-We know that The Queen has a military history, from her story in Phase 1.

Some people may think that this memory could have been viewed while the Queen (Operator) was a computer, like the ONI tech conversation. But I think that since the Queen is never actually referred to in the conversation, she is actually one of the people speaking. Also, the whole "It's like being strapped into a chair with your eyes stitched open" thing implies regret, and since Capt. Greene in this conversation is essentially sacrificing her family for the greater good, it would make sense for the Queen to look back with some remorse.

Another thing, a lot of people assume that the danger being talked about in this conversation is the Covenant...those people should keep in mind that there were other military dangers in the Halo universe before the Covenant were even known about. Colony uprisings, revolutions, etc...in fact, the Spartan program was originally created to fight this threat, not the Covenant. Just a theory about how this whole thing can better fit into the Halo time line....

EDIT: Just realised that the Greene conversation talks about planets being glassed...er, I guess they are talking about the Covenant....

In the Fall of Reach, what was the Dr.'s name that Cortana was based off of?

Going to pay and earning their pay seem to be used in totally different ways.

Going to pay seems to be used like in getting revenge.

Earning their pay seems like earning $$.

You know people are grasping at straws when they try to draw a parallel between two characters via them both once using the word 'pay'.

She used it right after Capt Greene used it....I didn't change the order of the quote, that's how it was given to us.

Location: 'roud here.

I just had a burger. And had to pay the bill!

Does that make me an AI now?

No, it means you're 100% unhelpful.

Melissa Greene is apparently a character (but not a captain) in one of the halo books.

Guys, the "pay" thing is only one part of my theory, first of all...

And secondly, it's a literal clue. The fact that the sentence in the Queen's memory ends with that word, and then she picks it right up again, tells us that the author is trying to show that the Queen has some sort of link with the person in the memory.

Thanks for the flames though.

More accurately, since the Spider is poking around in her memory, the Queen's most recent memory regarding the word "pay" popped to the foreground.

A ships AI routinely monitors and records dialogue between its crew, so it would come as no great surprise if this memory intrigued the AI, so it stored it. The idea of even potentially witholding information would run against all of its baseline programming, so it would make certain to have undeniable verification if it needed to bring Captain Greene up on some sort of charges. A recording of Greene's conversation with this lieutenant would fit the bill nicely.

It seems that the Spider is accidently forcing the Queen to regurgitate memories based around keywords, especially during heightened periods of emotion. Vowing vengeance, and saying someone is going to pay qualifies nicely for that part.

Regardless, it's a datapoint, but the link is pretty thin. Check the thread that was previously linked for my Halo-based explanations as to why.
