Actually, I really do not think it matters if if its confirmed whether any of them are dead or not. In terms of sequels or prequels they can be brought back through dream sequences or flashbacks. We only saw what they wanted us to see through the camcorder.
As for the Brooklyn Bridge collapse, I did not see the bridge actually falling into the water. He could be hanging on still to the part that didn't fall into the water.
As for Hud, its a shame, but one never knows with Hollywood.

also- it doesn't really matter who lived or who died anyways, because- they wouldn't be in the sequel anyways. that's my spec anyways.

It'll be a "28 days to 28 weeks" sort of thing... all new characters w/ an all new perspective on it all.

I agree with angstfild...

Only 2 can be confirmed dead. There is no solid proof to say otherwise. It's impossible to say whether Lily is alive or not.

Oh, and this may have been discussed somewhere else, but did anyone else find it strange that MGP just "tasted" Hud? Very interesting...

Have a question for people who have seen the movie multiple times (or have a better memory than I do) that comes from a post I read elsewhere. A writer claimed that her sister saw the wreckage of Lily's helicopter behind RHB's. Did anyone else see this?

I didn't pay much attention during to the background when Beth and Hud were pulling Rob out and then Hud goes back for the camera, but while watching, ummm, clandestine videos on YouTube all I noticed was the rotor from RHB's helicopter. Can anyone verify that there was a second helicopter in the park?

They couldn't have seen it BEHIND them. Lily left minutes if not more before them, why would the helicopter stay BEHIND them. It would have got the F out of there.

Why in the heck is there a debate on Hawk if he is still alive or not?

Am I the only one who saw a 5 ton tail crush him alone with everyone near him including the bridge?

Can you please explain how in god's name do you think he could survived that?

I don't think we'll ever know for sure if Rob and Beth survived- or if they did not, for that matter. But, and from what I know about JJ, I think that there'll be some clue or reference to them later on, as the sequel gets under way.
A reference that can be interpreted either way, of course. Like, maybe we are given a list of survivor testimonies in a supposedly hacked goverment page-and one of the stories in the list looks like it could have been told by Rob or Beth- something that is specific enough to apply to their experiences, but vague enough not to link to them without doubt.

For example:

[WILD SPEC]"He disappeared inside his mouth. We thought he had swallowed him whole, but then he-he spit him out on the ground, as if he had only... tasted him.
We ran to him- I don't know what we were thinking. He seemed to be in one piece, but as we approached... Every bone in his body... he was like a rag doll". [/WILD SPEC]

Those who like to imagine R&B survived, will think it was one of them who gave this testimony; others will say that it just describes a similar experience someone else had. That way everyone's happy.

Totally making stuff up here, of course.

If you watch closely when Hud is bitten in half by MGP, you can see the splatter of blood as his torso separate from his legs... You have to look very carefully...

yah know if there are only 2 confirmed deaths, then who is to say that those confirmed deaths weren't someone other then hud and Hawk? Marlena is dead, even if it was some sort of skin blister or non-organ destroying pop the amount of bloodloss would kill her unless she got a rather large transfusion, not likely in the middle of a warzone. Hud, well he looks a little bloody but unless you can actually prove he was bit in half he might be in one piece. as for Jason, well if IF the tail didn't actually hit him and instead hit between him and the others then he might have survived, it is possible to survive a fall from that high, a jump from that high can kill you but its possible to survive it. besides, the bridge came apart little by little so it might not have been a straight drop.
Rob and Beth, well there appeared to be a splash of blood right before the camera was completely buried, but this could be the dirt covering the lens, not sure. Lily, well we really don't know, her chances of living are definitely the highest though.
