[SPOILER]The Monster seems to follow the group especially Hud - Got that SBN stank I guess - Above the subway, just before they enter
- as they leave Beth's apartment; the monster seems to backtrack to their position
- twice near the end...lunging for the copter and then of course, Hud's "closing" scene.
Maybe there were more? It's odd that while trying to avoid MGP, they come within a block of the monster several times.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If they were trying to avoid, they would have been running the other direction like everyone else.
They went towrds it at the subway scene. For the helicopter MGP was just jumping for whatever was closest after being attacked. Then MGP went to check the wreckage.
I did not get the feeling that MGP was following them.

Please use the "Search" feature.
In fact, all you have to do is use that thing on the side of your browser window called a "scroll bar"

I disagree that they were trying to avoid the monster... they knowingly moved towards it. Their goal may not have been to get as close as possible to it, but they were moving towards its known vicinity. The subway scene is a perfect example... out of nowhere the military rolls in, and there's the monster in all his terrifying glory.
The scene near Beth's apartment I apparently don't remember.
As for the heli/ending scenes, the monster got bombed just before it swats the copter out of the sky. It got hurt, it's pissed, and it takes its revenge on the thing in the sky above it. As for the Central Park incident, I dunno. I stated in another thread it may have some kind of "bio-sensor" to help it find itty-bitty prey, but it could be its sense of smell as well.

Re: The Monster seems to follow the group especially Hud Got that SBN stank I guess They ran towards the direction of the monster while the evacuation was taking place, if they'd just followed everyone else the film would have been much shorter...

And if I remember right, they actually run towards the monster's body to get into the subway, god knows why they didn't just run to find a safer entrance!
In the airlift, the monster could have been following the choppers just like the group was.
You can tell the monster has been walking all over the place because of the devastation around Beth's place, that's not the first time he's walked up that area.

In the Central Park scene the monster was standing above Hud...looking forwards, it then noticed Hud was down there at it's feet. It seemed to be standing over the crash area like a lion(yeah I said it) hovers over a fresh kill.
So I think the monster just was there cause of the copter crash, and the 3 friends just got very very unlucky. Nothing more to read into this.

Was Hud just frozen with fear or did he get pinned down by the monster's foot? I wasn't sure what happened in that part.

Fear and Curiosity....."....people are gonna wanna know..." It looked to me like Hud picked up his camera, I think he whispered "...wait..." to Rob and Beth, and just out of dumb curiousity started filming for posterity or whatever.
I can say with confidence that the monster's foot wasn't holdin' him down whatsoever.

Well apparently, you didn't do to great of a job. Listen man, I'm not trying to flame, but seriously - there was a thread with virtually the same title on the front page. Don't get all pissy beacuse you got called out.
That being said, it's generally accepted that being as this is a suspense/monster movie, if MGP wasn't around our protagonists, it would be somewhat boring (kind of how the killer can walk and always be right behind you in a horror flick, even if you're freaking Jessie Owens or something). I'd take the fact that MGP was following our gruesome uh... foursome with a grain of salt, and consider it, instead, a good cinematic move.

Knew that...
I was responding to the pointless sarcasm. Don't assume we didn't do a search...allow us to suck at it once in awhile as I just did.
And yes ....I reserve the right to get "pissy."

You can reserve the right to get pissy. I reserve the right that if you do so at other players and break the TOS then I will get pissy with you.
TOS can be found here .
Play nice.
