ok, so i know the leith is one of the more respected members in this game, and as someone who just joined on i hope that i am not over-stepping any bounds by kinda calling him out on his post regarding heath ledger but i can't help myself.

Your view point on the issue is one that pisses me off to no end. People who spew out B.S. like "Oh he was a rich actor, if he had an addiction he could have gotten help" and "How bad can his life be, he has money" and of course the classic "Oh if money is such a problem for you give it to me" (paraphrased good charlotte there, or as i like to call them bad green day). The simple fact of the matter is that money does not buy happiness/contentment/peace. No matter if you are paris hilton, (born into money - never worked a day in your life - Parents bought you out of any trouble you have gotten into), someone like heath ledger (not born into much - worked your way up - and starting living your dream), random joe schmo like you or I, (not born into much - work hard all your life - varying degrees of wealth/success), or a homeless bum on the street life isn't easy. I will concede the point that there are different trials and struggles depending on which class you fall into, but they are there none the less. Now true the paris hilton types haven't had to worry about making sure to run out of month before they run out of money for quite some time (like probably most of us do, lord knows i do) but then again how many of us have to deal with just about every move we make being watched by the general public? every time have you scratched your nose and had to look around to make sure that a papparazzi wasn't taking a photo at that exact moment that made it look like a pick instead of a scratch? Not to mention if any of them gets into any kind of legal trouble. You or I get into a drunken fight with a douche at the bar, or get distracted behind the wheel and cause a fender bender, no big deal. maybe spend a night in jail, or have to go through the hassle of dealing with our car insurance. Talk about superficial. But on the other hand if a celebrity does either of those things they will be potentially losing millions of dollars. cause you know for a fact someone gets rear ended on the road by an olsen twin, all of the sudden their neck will be hurting and here comes a law suit.

1 other thing, Leith's logic about "He had money so he had access to more things to help him" also works even more so in the counter-argument. These celebrities have access to so much more stuff than the regular joe. both positive and negative. The best example of this is Amy Winehouse. before she gets famous sure she was probably doing any drugs she could get her hands on, but now she has all this money/power/celebrity, and that changes from being whatever she get her hands on, to getting her hands on whatever she wants. So unless you feel no pity towards any drug addict, then your logic is flawed. If a regular person, due to the environment they were born into, ends up associated with some less then desirable people and gets caught up in drug/alcohol abuse, yet has some talent behind a microphone and becomes famous. then just because they get money and fame doesn't mean that the addiction goes away, typically it will get stronger since that person will now have access to better/stronger drugs and more of them. We need to realize that most celebrities were once regular hard working john/jane doe's like the rest of us, thus any problems that any of us can have they can also have; sometimes even worse.

lastly, Correct me if i am wrong here; but aren't depression, bi-polar disorder, dimentia, etc... chemical imbalances in the brain? and do those types of disorders and diseases discriminate depending on wealth and social stature? NO.

Ok so now that have made an ass of myself and completely alienated myself I will be done. and just to clarify I am not trying to attack you personally leith, i am in no position to do so being that i do not know you personally. This whole rant was to say that i thoroughly disagree with your view point and to explain the reasons why.

thanks for listening/reading.

The only thing that pisses me off is that fact that he will go down as a "hero who died for his love" or something stupid like that. "He was such a character actor that the darkness overcame him..." (gag me with a 2x4). People should not be rewarded for a) being weak b) not getting help (no matter the fame or furtune) c) overdosing by accident on purpose d) having a mental disorder (no, having more to overcome does not make him a stronger or better person).

He was a known drunkard and drug-taker...he was known for being unable to stay with one woman for very long...he was known to get in fights all the time. Don't jump to his defense bcse you think he deserves pity, bcse the truth is, regardless of how messed up he was, we all have our own shite to deal with.

Phantom, people can disagree with me all they want. I'm not always right, that's just how I felt about the situation, and you won't be alienated because you feel differently.

I think more people agree with you on this than me anyway.

Yes, and I'll scream out the window `` That's it! They got it! They bombed him! That's what I'm talking about! That's the shit right there! `` and wait for the monster to eat us.
