[SPEC]Why The Monster Came To New York??[THEORY]
i know what i think...what do you think

My take on the whole thing is that if the monster is indeed a "Baby" as JJ said that the baby was looking for it's mother.

I have a whole complicated thing going on about Tagruato Harvesting the monsters for use in Slusho and my take on the Kishin manga but it's hard to word without sounding like a lunatic.

So i'll just leave that tidbit and try and get this massive paragraph right

What are your theories on WHY??

I am convinced it is following the Sea Bed Nectar, presumably in the Tagruato tanker.

Maybe mom and baby were at chuai. They escaped, mom was killed by military (Green pic on 1-18-08.com) and baby beeing say, deprived of food follows the trail of the tanker.

If they could kill the mother, what was so damn difficult with the baby?

if there is a mum...which i don't think there is
(i think its separation anxiety is from the fact that it has no mum due to it being a mutation of a number of species)

but if it does have a mum...and it was killed so easily by the military...why was the baby so much harder to kill...(if it hasn't been killed...which we all believe...just means its even harder to kill)

I"m not at all sure that there is a mother MGP.I think J.J. was just tryin to get across the fact that MGP wakes up from his sleep at the bottom of the ocean and freaks the hell out, kinda like a kid that gets separated from his mom in a store or somethin like that.I'm sure MGP had a mom,but I think it died long before MGP wakes up or is woken up and he's all frantic and "Mom!Where are you!?What's goin on!?I'm scared!"I've been in Wal-Mart for example, and seen an employee with a kid that was lost tryin to find his parents, and the kid was goin balistic.Of course he wasn't killin people and destroyin shit, but I'm guessin if someone hadn't been holdin his hand,he would've started throwin shit lol. Y'all know what I mean.If there was a mom, when they asked the army dude what it was,I'm pretty sure he would've known. Also if they had killed the mother, they should've been able to kill MGP.

This is why they need to come out with a timeline (or I need to be pointed to it). The Effect page had the entry for the oil rig attack dated this month, not in may. Hence no attack before new york. And as sp103 said why could they kill the mom, using it seems much less firepower, but not the child?
I also think the child is alone and there is no mom. The magna starts off with a wondering of the purpose of its life, that it starts off alone. Not to mention why the hell would a sea creature look on land for its mom? Would a child look for their mom at the bottom of a pool?

Here is a great source for you to learn nearly everything about the ARG in an easy to use format. There is a real world timeline and a Game world timeline(which is still a source of debate).

I'm still here because there is a bit of good discussion going on in a small handful of the threads. I find what goes on in most of them just to be ridiculous overanalyzing of things that don't really matter. Personally, I think the movie should just be taken for what it is. However, I know y'all have been following the viral marketing campaign and whatnot, so it's a big deal to some people. If you'd like to discuss this more, feel free to PM me.

A well put together collectors edition DVD, with a nice illustrated written volumn detailing the backstory, would probably sell like hotcakes.

I could even see them keeping a written volume detailing the backstory separate from the DVD sale, considering how much attention the ARG is getting.

There is enough money to be made from it, I think the answers will be produced at some point in some form, one way or another.

I think that the monster may be something extremely unique - like maybe there are only ever a handful on the planet at a time. Maybe they breed and deposit the egg/cacoon/whatever deep under the ocean, and then live out the rest of their lives. Every couple of thousands of years their offspring wake up to feed, and look for a mate (kind of like a cicada).

Think about it - a monster that can survive a nuclear blast? That lives for thousands of years? If there were ever more then a handful of those on the planet, having a bunch of kids really quickly, they could decimate the populations of earth's other creatures. I assume that there has never been another animal on the planet that could prey upon it (not even a dinosaur would survive the bombs that were dropped on MGP).

The parent is not dead, think about, the military couldn't kill the baby. the didn't nuke the war either because that would poision the war.
