Oh I know he's directing Star Trek but I still don't give a shit. Seriously, what's his next project?

I'm pretty sure I posted this on another thread I think it was latinoreview.com that ran a story way back when we were all getting cloverfever that JJ had signed to do a "mysterious new thriller shrouded in secrecy" and I think they said here we go again!

Maybe a sequel to cloverfield??

It IS his next project. He was just the producer for Cloverfield anyways, and yet he took basically ALL the credit. Grow up man.

I don't know if he took all the credit, he made a point of mentioning the director's name on the widget, for example. His name was used to promote the movie, as it's a recognisable name to use. If it had been a hugely well know director, that would have been used instead.

I hate the way some people talk like JJ Abrams wrote the script by himself, directed the movie himself, designed the monster himself, and ran the whole viral campaign by himself, but I don't think that's really his fault.

His next one, besides Star Trek, is Fringe, but you'd know that if you would look it up yourself.

Doubtful. There were many unanswered questions (most prominent of which would be the final scene) that need to be answered, and it would do them no good to stop now.

I think if you ask basically anyone what they think about when you say "Cloverfield" or "1-18-08" you'll get one of two answers:

1. JJ Abrams
-or-
2. Monster movie

I mean, sure, it wasn't really his fault, but still, that's irrelevant to this whole thing. JJ's next project is Star Trek.

To answer what was apparently the initial question of this thread, check out SpaceBass's comment here:

I was wondering, however, do you think once the movie is out, this ARG may actually continue...?
It would be a nice reward and make the film more memorable and it would save us from a potentially terrible sequel that is only made to fill in plot holes.

You've probably already figured this out but I can confirm the answer is "yes." We're working on organizing a post-campaign chat with the Puppetmasters...details to come when the campaign is, well, over. Wink
