 		[Spec] The future of the series....
And Giant Monster Films in General
I was wondering about the future of the series, and frankly, I'm stumped about how J.J. might continue and expand the franchise. Especially regarding the monster itself, and how MGP might develop as a character. Yes, I want MGP to have character, rather than be just "another giant monster". We see little of the Big Guy himself in the movie, so the lack of feeling for who he is excusable. Will he be a noble, lonely soul trapped in a world to small for him? Or a vicious animal?

One thing's for sure, this movie is higher quality stuff than what TOHO's been cranking out for the past two decades, and I'm almost positive that J.J. Abrams has helped usher in a new era of American Giant Monster films.

 		See, I'm hoping Toho will see the sucess of Cloverfield and decide that it's time to dust off Godzilla again. Or, maybe start a new with a lesser known Kaiju

 		There's no doubt that Godzilla will return on eday, and frankly, I think he needs a rest to let some new blood circulate into the comany. Although I would like to see Toho do a crossover, maybe with King Ghidorah.....

 		I want a city other than NYC to be attacked by MGP.
Of course it has to be a coastal city but another movie with MGP tearing through another city with all new victims would be great.

This time I don't want to like the characters as much.
