Well, you also have to imagine the sheer size of it towering over Hud. Of course it was going to look "awkward".

 		Without HUD, there would've been no:

"What is that?"

-"It's a terrible thing"

"What was THAT?"

-"Something else... also terrible."

Both times I've seen it the whole theater cracked up at that. And pretty much everything else he said. I think saying EVERYONE in the theater hated him is a bit of an exaggeration. Just because you, and the people you were with hated him doesn't mean everyone did.

Watching Hud get eaten alive *shudder* was, IMO, even worse than Marlena - as soon as we saw her get bitten by the rabid 'crotch cricket', you just knew things were about to go waaaay downhill for her. But Hud..poor sweet slightly dopey (but in a loveable way), definitely DIDN'T deserve such a gruesome fate..! Crying or Very sad Shocked Crying or Very sad ...
