[TRIVIA] Foreshadowing SPDR in the Bungie Weekly Update?

Could this Bungie Weekly Update be foreshadowing this ARG?

Friday, April 9, 2004
Our Princess is in another Castle

Alta, the Bungie Princess, is working on secret goodies as well as a certain annual tradeshow, as she tells it herself, "This week has been chaos! In addition to taking care of the boys as usual, I have been busy working with some different people on some cool things that will start showing up as we get closer to launch. Fans will love what we have in store."
But back to the tradeshow, as Alta continues, "E3 is right around the corner...so I have been dashing around making arrangements for that. We have some cool stuff planned and I am wrapping up details for a mystery guest at Fanfest. There is definitely a buzz around the studio with E3 coming up and the countdown to Halo 2 launch. In the mean time I am just going to get as much time in the sun (yes sun in Seattle) as possible before the true chaos hits. That's all for me this week. Cheers!

--I highlighted what may be the foreshadowing. I think this game is really cool by the way. I lurked a little during the AI Beast but didn't really do anything. I love Bungie and all their games so it makes this just that more fun.

It's painfuly obvious by now that Alta, the Bungie Princess, is the mastermind behind the site, or at least plays a major role.

You know those pictures of "Dana"? Guess who they really are. Alta.

You are blind... damn... a lot of you are blind... if Alta is indeed Dana i will eat my own foot. Exclamation

I'm still not selled into the idea that this ARG is related to Halo2. As with the cortana letters, they were created to anounce the new game(halo), and I think that this ARG is created to0 anounce a new game by bungie (that is someway related to the halo universe). That's because I can't see a strong relation between the HALO characters and the ilovebees characters. They both are set in the halo universe, but they are not in direct correlation.

I was referring to the E3 2004 picture, man. That picture on the website is not clear.

And, I could be wrong, I admit.

fyi, Microsoft has enough money to hire an unknown actress.

Does it matter either way?

We know Bungie is 'the man behind the curtain' for this game. The first rule of ARG's is that we're supposed to be ignoring them, not obsessing over just which staff members pictures they've used in the game.

I wasn't obsessing. I was just stating potentially faulty, irrelevent information. They made a bigger deal of it than I.

The reference to Princess and Castle are tantalizing, but I don't see any information that pushes the game forward (linking characters with real life people doesn't forward the plot). We could dig around in the release to try to find information (equidistant letter sequences, etc), but then we have to wonder if we are pulling apart a puzzle or actually creating one ourselves.

Actually, "Your Princess is Not In This Castle" is a reference to Mario.

I wasn't really trying to move the puzzle along with this. I just thought it was a cool little tidbit about the PuppetMaster. I guess it is way off topic, not relevant, and maybe against the rules of the ARG. Perhaps the Mods could close or lock this thread.

By the way, I don't think Alta is Dana either.

Dana=Dana for the sake of the game.

Let's get back on task.

lol dunno but have you noticed this sentence: I look forward to many more laughs and memories here at Bungie. Thanks for making me your Princess! refers to bungie princess(could be wrong), and the bungie princess has the same body as dana. Smile

"She likes high places, the Queen does..."

As many already know, there was a new posting (today 8-27-04) from the Sleeping Princess on the ilovebees.com ' Error 404 ' page. It reads in part:

" ...She likes high places, the Queen does, so she has moved all her stuff up into the Tower. The Tower is a tricky place for me to go. The only way up there is a pair of spiral staircases that wind around one another, with no rail and a very scary drop down the middle. Plus there's nowhere to hide, really, on a staircase.

So I waited until the Castle seemed quiet and then I snuck up the stairs on my softiest feet, tip toe tip toe, stair after stair, turn after turn, until I finally came to the top. There's a room up there and the Queen was in it: I could hear the hum and buzz of her. I knew she would be standing at the window, because that's nearly all she does these days... "

I just noticed that the latest Halo 2 update (also today...) at the Bungie.net site includes the following line with an image:

" And one other last thing. Mister Chief is off this week, replaced by his brilliantly-named evil counterpart, Evil Mister Chief "

The image includes an "Evil Mister Chief" cartoon and in the background is a Castle with a tower!

As mentioned here in this thread originally about the previous Bungie.net update in April:

Coincidental or significant?
