If it's based on any song whatsoever, i'd say R.E.M.'s Orange Crush:
Follow me, don't follow me
I've got my spine, I've got my orange crush
Collar me, don't collar me
I've got my spine, I've got my orange crush
We are agents of the free
I've had my fun and now its time to
Serve your conscience overseas (over me, not over me)
Coming in fast, over me
High on the roof,
Thin the blood,
Another one on the waves tonight,
Comin' in, you're home
We'd circle and we'd circle and we'd circle to stop and consider and
Centered on the pavement stacked up all the trucks jacked up and
Our wheels in slush and orange crush in pocket and all this here county
Hell any county it's just like heaven here and I was remembering and I
Was just in a different county and all then this whirlybird that I
Headed for I had my goggles pulled off I knew it all I knew every back
Road and every truck stop[/b]

So the monster is actually trapped in a vortex of his own anguish and sorrow and cuts himself with helicopter blades to ease his horrible, horrible pain?

But in doing so he realizes how nothing on this planet can hurt him and all he does in return is ruin another perfectly good helicopter.

I think, if anything, this is the opposite of what most of you are saying. FOB may want people to go to the movie who wouldn't normally. They don't need any more popularity(every fucking high schooler shits themselves over them) but maybe one of them has been following the ARG and wants a sequel. lol.

Guys, ask yourselves, does it really matter?
This is almost the same thing the forum gone through with the "Is JJ deliberately trying to invoke 9/11 on us?"
It's a god dam movie, watch it, enjoy it. Unless the lyrics of the song or there's specifically planes crashing into MGP, it doesn't really matter.
Just...watch the movie and enjoy, why are you guys getting so riled up becuase of one blog post from a band that makes music that you don't like? Just noting that "Hey, our lyrics from this song kinda match something in the movie." means nothing.

Remember, he said it was based off the album, which has more than one track (12, not including the bonus tracks on rereleases.) Plus it takes time to google for sites with every track's lyrics and for pages to load. And again, I wanted to be thorough and consider the remote possibility of a very vague interpretation, but luckily the majority of tracks were about boy gets girl and relied on excessive repeating of the hook, which sped up the process of analysis.
Although I will admit the education system does suck. When I was in my senior year the entire 7th grade class failed a semester, they had to call an emergency superintendent's staff meeting to figure out a way to encourage the students to take it seriously.

It's called "not making it boring to the point you want to stab your eyes out with pencils". Then again, I've been out of high school for almost 10 years.

or Thousand Foot Krutch's "Phenomenon" with lines like:
Quote:
feel the sensation surround invasion,
with communication, move quick, we might avoid contamination
Quote:
Down, Here comes the sound
Quote:
Don't let these spiders crawl up beside us, they want to bite us, inject the virus
Quote:
I'll rely on your strength to carry me on.
of course the movie is not based on a song but i'm just wasting some time here
