Lots of [questions]... I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Alright, so I had never even heard of Cloverfield until a few weeks ago, and knew nothing about all this "hype" until after I saw the movie. Ive been browsing this forum for about an hour, and it only leaves me more confused than before.
1. I assume that all this stuff surrounding the movie about Slusho, Targruato and the Chuai station is all fake right? I couldnt find much info about whether this stuff was just made up to "hype up" the movie, or if some of this stuff is actually real...
(If all this was just made up to hype up the movie, how come none of it was incorporated into the movie?)
2. What does this Slusho have to do with the monster? I realize that it contains something in it that changes things, but did this attach itself to some creature in the water to create this monster? Im really confused as to where the monster came from... And where those smaller creatures came from as well?
3. What is all this talk about what fell out of the sky towards the end of the movie? I saw it as well, but I figured it was just the monster... But most posts Ive read have people saying its some type of Japanese satelitte? What would lead you to believe that? And what does it have to do with this movie?
4. A buddy of mine said he read somewhere that if you play the final scene backwards, you can here him saying that its still alive or something like that... Is this true? Is there going to be a sequel?
Thanks for any answers... And again, sorry if this wasnt posted in the right place, I just came upon this site today, and had a lot of questions.

1. It's real. Tagruato is actually a real company and they're facing bankruptcy because of this. The CIA is also trying to get their hands on some seabed nectar. It was in a Yahoo article a few days ago. Oh and there are videos on youtube of a tragruato station crashing. I know the monster is "fake" but this makes me think otherwise. It might be a coverup.
2. Slusho is actually the blood of the monster. Tagruato was drilling and their drills penetrated the monster digging out blood. Tagruato found it near the surface and thought it tasted good, so they marketed it. The monster was mad.
3. Tagruato thought it was a japanese satellite, but nobody knows what it is for sure. Tagruato are known liars about stocks and bribes, so I wouldn't doubt it.
4. The sequel is already out dumbut... Google cloverfield 2 you can find some online clips.
Hope that helped and welcome to the forums, ignore Rusty he's mean to newcomers

Welcome, at best and to say the least- go through the threads and find topics that sound like they might answer a question or two.
As for the monster's origin- Anything you read is all speculation [except for anything surrounding the 'Production Notes.'
Any theories on what Slusho! [Seabed's Nectar] is- are just speculations, not truth.
Slusho! Tagruato, and Jamie were all discreetly placed through out the movie. If you've been following the ARG/ARE/VMC then you would pick up on them/see them. This movie was made to be able to stand w/o any back story.
and don't let any assholes deter you from asking questions. Just ask and separate sarcasm from actual legit answers...
And I would go in the opposite direction of anything Kraker just said... Tagruato is fictional.

And this is why we love Kraker.
OP: The real answers to your questions are exactly the opposite of all of Kraker's answers.

Wow, rough crowd.
So they spent all that time to make that stuff up about Tagruato and Slusho just to hype up the movie? And they made characters get myspace accounts and had videos and all that stuff for the movie? That seems like a lot of hype to build up a movie, especially when 90% of the people that go see it have no idea about any of this...
Was this movie based off a book written awhile back?

It's alright CP4, obviously you haven't been following this stuff since July like the rest of us dorks, so let's get you up to speed as to what we are all babbling about. Follow me now:
1. Tagruato is the fictional company that owns the drilling stations and the Slusho! brand. The Chuai station is the driiling station that was destroyed by either the monster or T.I.D.O Wave (an enviromentalist group bent on taking Tagruato down because they believe the company's drilling stations are disrupting the sea life). This backstory was put in place to keep us all busy until the movie came out so we wouldn't lose interest in Cloverfield. It may however be incorporated in a future sequel but it is too soon to know.
2. Some believe Slusho! changes people due to secret ingredients found beneath the ocean floor (Sea Bed Nectar). Some speculate this SBN made the monster grow. Again, just speculation, because we've seen the fictional drink in many shows and it has done nothing supernatural to those who consumed it. No one knows for certain where the monster came from but the smaller creatures are described as parasites which is not uncommon to many species on this planet.
Moving on...
3. Tagruato lost a satellite that fell from the sky. Some speculate this is what is seen falling from the sky while others believe it's the monster. Hence all the squabbling going here at Unfiction. You decide.
4. It is true at the end of the movie it is said "Help us." It is also true that when this audio is played in reverse it says "It's still alive".
And lastly, yes, I'm sure there will be a sequel because Hollywood loves money and the fans are asking for it.
Nuff said, I hopes this helps my friend.
