No real ARG as of yet... just the one website. We're just chatting to pass the time untill something happens. Hopefully it won't be like Cloverfield with the 3 pics on 1-18-08.com, then nothing for 3 months.
It IS almost a year untill the movie, it may be a loooong time before things start popping.
Plenty of time for us ST Nerds to educate the non-ST nerds

Good point, I doubt they'll rush things out at this stage in the game.
I'm just disappointed that they didn't give us anything to go on a hunt with. Oh, well.

I agree that there's probably no ARG aspect to this just yet, but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled and hope that something comes up soon.

Does anyone see faces hidden in those green sliding lines?

It definitely seems like something could be hidden in those, but all the simple combinations of them didn't really look like anything. Maybe there's some more complex way of combining them?

Making them semitransparent and laying them on top of each other?
I liked the idea that it was audio data.

Appx. how many minutes before the flash of the corridor comes up (please don't say six!). Do you have to have the 3 other cameras perfectly in tune first? How long is it up for, a couple of seconds, a minute?
EDIT: Ok, saw the corridor. The offline cam makes a beeping sound and the picture pops up for maybe 2-3 seconds. I don't think it happend at the 6 minute mark, but sooner (maybe 3-4 minutes)...pretty sure you have to have the camera's perfectly tuned first.

Funny, i'd never heard of the word "trekker" before reading this thread...i have a couple cousins and an uncle who are self described "trekkies".
I'm more of a "warsie", if you'll forgive the horrible take off of trekkie. A "gatesie" too. (Star Wars and Stargate. and not just the Star Wars movies, but the Expanded Universe. Baron Fel gonna kick yo behind!)
as for the page...hmm...so many possibilities...
Gatesie sounds too creepy. like goatse.
EDIT: I have yet to see the flash. also, nothing of note in the source code that i could see.
But i wonder, do the percentages relate to the numbers beside them for the sliders?
EDIT2: I totally didn't realize that refreshing it changed which camera was offline! sweet! still havent seen the flash yet...

in the UK we had a minute of footage on Film 2008 - I got very excited when the presenter annouced it & then very disappointed when it was shown...
but basically it was a shot of the welder doing his thing & the starship being built - you may be able to rewatch it on the BBC site using the Iplayer but it may block non-UK folks
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008s8qg.shtml?filter=azgroup%3Aefg&scope=iplayeratoz&start=3&version_pid=b008s8pr this is the link (sorry I can't do the facny short ones!!) & it's at 22 mins
edited for time of footage

The audio theory is a good idea...but I'm not really sure that its possible to read audio from an image. Unless...there's somebody out there with awesome $1000 software that Google doesn't tell people about...
Maybe we need to wait until the large black space under the videos contains something? According to the source there's nothing there yet...it just seems weird for a website to include an extra chunk on the bottom especially when there's no content there.
(I forget who posted it, but the semi-transparent images only makes it look like there's a pair of eyes staring back at you, with wavy lines next to the "face". I don't really think that's much of a clue.)

Well, the corridor comes up fuzzy but tunes itself in before it fades out..
Interesting to note that even tho there is a beep to announce the picture coming, the tuning controls dont become active and the camera dosent acknowledge that it is getting a signal. The pic also dosent seem to relate to the others... almost like its a signal from somwhere else being intercepted for a moment on this screen.
Just a thought..

The fancy short ones aren't very fancy actually. You just go to [url]tinyurl.com[/url].
Or you can make a regular link like this:
Code:
[url=exaqmpleurl.com]Example Text[/url]
And *POOF*! Short link.

I noticed the think about the camera still thinking it's not getting a signal from the screenshot of the hallway but didn't actively think about that point until just now. Good thinking there!
May I assume then your suggestion is that this is a signal from the same camera on the Enterprise in the "future"?

That's a little too close to goatse for my taste.
