[SPEC] blue oven mit A possible tie in? I have a possible idea about the oven mit from the slusho stuff. It may be way to out there, maybe not.
I know that most people want and think that LOST is seperate from Cloverfield and stuff... BUT considering the Dharma logo, I think it must be heard
At the beginning of Season 3 Juliet is listening to the song "Downtown" and her smoke alarm goes off and she uses a very blue oven mit to get her burning food out of the oven.
Symbolic??? or am I just way out there on this one.
Sound off!
Edit - Tagged, you can tag your post to let people know what's in it - [SPEC], [SPOILERS], [UPDATE] are all examples. For more see the posting guidelines and welcome to unforum! - MikeyJ

Where does this blue oven mit tie into Cloverfield in any sense?

So maybe I am way out there. You know, uh, maybe like, uh, you know.
Lost = something about cloverfield
"Downtown" = New York
alarm and burning = alarm and burning
blue oven mit = to remind us of slusho and blue oven mit
I don't know, I give up trying. I'm dumb.

Blue oven mitt is an older referance from the Slusho.jp page and was one of the code names for the movie production. It is a valid cloverfield referance though I am not sure the oven mitt in Lost is related. To Quote Freud. "Sometimes a Knife is just a Knife" or in this case an oven mitt.

Lay off flamers. Dont be flaming the guy. Although its sort of trout he was just doing what this forum is for and speculating no matter how rediculous it may seem to you. Some of you flaming him and not knowing what the blue oven mit is should be flamed yourselves. It is from the Slusho.jp site as one of the items that pops up in some of the characters thoughts. Just as a hammer is one and coincidently Hammer Down was the name of the final military attack planned for MGP. So its symbolism he is looking for just as has been done by others. Lay off the flaming if you dont even know what he is talking about.

I second that. Just because you can't remember the whole cheese mitten hammer thing from the ARG doesn't mean you should go off on one. Try to accept that you may have joined a bit late and so probably won't understand a few things we say. I personally think this is valid spec.

i think most of us are well aware of what shows up on the slusho site. but trying to connect that with someone using a blue oven mit in a totally different program? come on. JJ Abrams has done much better than that and i think it's sad we're picking apart his use of a blue oven mit.

I dunno guys, I think its a valid spec too. not that it means much, i don't think, but an inside reference, sure. I mean, check lostpedia; everything has meaning.

Thanks Richie, and others
I'm not saying you have to believe it or agree with it, I'm not even sure I do, but don't post a response to it if you don't even know what we are talking about.

OMG, you people cannot be serious! You do not know what the Blue Oven Mitt is? See, this is why some people are upset about some of you new members. You have no clue about any of the things we have discussed or discovered in the past. Most of us have been going at this since July of last year and have hundreds of threads about almost EVERY aspect of Cloverfield here on UF. Please for the love of God go back and do some reading. It is easy, just use the search button. A lot of people have done the legwork for you so see if you can build upon it. Some fresh eyes may actually catch something we missed.
darasbakaz, thank you for at least knowing what the blue oven mitt is and thank you for trying to be productive with your ideas. The only way I see them related is that JJ Abrams produced the two. I know you are a fan of LOST or you would have never caught it so you know he loves to do things like that. But I do not think the two are connected.

props. i don't get what's with all the people getting so aggro in response to your theory. considering the totally-irrelevant-to-the-movie appearance of the dharma logo in the opening credits of cloverfield, i don't think tying the blue oven mit to slusho is invalid at all.

In no way was my comment supposed to be a flame or anything of the sort, I asked a logical question as to how this ties in.
Not everyone is going to be up to date with all of this information and as knowledgeable all of this stuff. So quit being so damn ignorant and bashing new people to the site just because you've spent time looking into things for a lot longer than most of us. Instead of searching for something THAT I'VE NEVER KNEW WAS DISCUSSED BEFORE, wouldn't it be logical to ask a question on a thread related to that? Open your damn eyes.
