[SPOILER][SPEC] Idea about MGP Design Just a thought! Yeah I know, I'm new here and I've been actively reading these forums for awhile but I cant help but seem to notice something with the structure of MGP's arms and head (Even teeth) Minus the ears.
Does anyone else see the resemblance to a Vampire bat?
Notice the similar beady eyes and the shape of the mouth, not as much teeth as MGP but similar layout.
In this one, notice the how the arms bend the same way and how the hands are almost identical to the way MGP stands while walking through the city.
Just another good example of the face and arm structure, the bat is standing almost identical to the way MGP stands while walking through the city. You can see a good example of this when he's getting bombed twoards the ending.
Take away from the ears and replace them with his bubbles, or breathing apparatus (which ever you believe it's) and you have a very similar looking facial structure.
Just thought I would share my opinions because this has been growing on me for a little while now

Well he seemed to be a mix of a ton of animals, I just thought the bat reference was really clear to me when I started thinking about it. It's just a random thought and I just wanted to share it because most of the stuff on here is REALLY out there theories on how this thing came about haha.
It could be possible he lived in a underwater cave, not necessarily under the ocean, like an island type cave.

I would not characterize the monster as a sea creature, he looked more like a mammal.

Yeah I saw more lizard features also, just with his walk and tail. But With the way his arms were and no real gills except for his breathing apparatus he seemed more mammal than anything.

He kinda reminds me of a monkey. The arms are a little different but meh, whatever.
Plus, he kinda sounds like Peter Jacksons Kong. Gotta be creative. I hear it, and I'm sure you'll hear it too.

Plus MGP was found at the bottom of the sea, and you know there are tons of bats in the water right, you know, rainbow trout bats and sea bats

I think the guy has a point. Not that I totally agree it is a bat but one of my first impressions of MGP in its looks and movements was a similarity to the giant hairless bat thing The Count turned into in Bram Stokers Dracula when they busted him in the room working on Winona Ryder.

At no point in this did I say it is a bat, I said the monster has similar qualities to that of a Vampire Bat. I was just making a comparison to the design of it.
On the point of it being from the sea, no one exactly knows if it was from the bottom of the ocean. Sure they said it in a interview, but do you think after all of this puzzle game that we've been trying to figure out for the longest time they would just come out and be like "Yeah, it's from the sea... end of story."

I'm sure Neville Page drew inspiration from many animals. I can see the influence of the vampire bat in the monster, along with a crocodile, snake etc... The monster is definitely not a mammal. Mammals cannot breath underwater. If the monster was a mammal it would have to surface every time it needed to breathe. Someone would have seen it before now. It's obviously an amphibian.

I definitely saw a resemblance, both in a shot of MGP screaming, and with the way its front arms move. Thank God the sumumabitch don't fly!!

I've thought that since I saw the movie. It resembles, and walks, like a vampire bat.

I never thought of it looking like a bat. I thought it looked like a snake's mouth before the strike. It expands a great deal here.

Growing up in farmhouses, I've seen a lot of bats walking around as well as flying, and I noticed the same thing, especially in the bombing-run scene. This actually jaded the overall idea of what the creature looked like in my head, but ultimately, it got me thinking. Good observation.

Sorry to double post, but I don't think that's necessarily true. Well, I mean the needing to breath part is, but the people seeing it part doesn't have to be. Cryptids turn up all the time; the Giant Panda, Mountain Gorilla, Okapi, and Ceolocanth were all thought to be rumors until only about a hundred years ago. Granted, I think it's not plausible that MGP is completely mammalian (the head-lungs seem to hint at that, I'd say) he certainly has mammalian traits. I prefer the science-gone-wrong-on-hapless-sea-critters theory, myself.
