I think MGP is a bit silly, but at the same time, the acronym itself is nice. Clover works fine for me as well, but if you wanna fit the movie's mysterious feel and mesh with the field of crytpozoology (the study of creatures that may or may not exist), why not just refer to it as 'the Cloverfield Monster'?

'Cloverfield Monster' sounds redundant.

Bob: Hey man you see the Cloverfield Monster in Cloverfield?
Bill: Yea, I saw the Cloverfield Monster in Cloverfield. Did you see Cloverfield?
Bob: Nah man, from what I've heard about Cloverfield, in Cloverfield the Cloverfield monster is one scary Cloverfield Monster.
Bill: Yea...
Bob: Cloverfield Monster Cloverfield Clover.
Bill: Right. Bye.

No, yeah, I could agree with that if people actually spoke like chimps with down syndrome.

I prefer Alejandro, or Jorge. Something with a Spanish flair.

I'd hate to get caught up in yet another naming thread, but...

maybe Clover + Darwin = either Clarwin (or Clowin, but that's too close to Clown) or Darver

YES, A maritimer.

I like Darver. Sounds like Carver, who was the best villain ever.

I think I might start calling him "Harper"...that'll strike fear deep into my heart and the hearts of all Canadian (non-Albertan) citizens.

Canadians shall call him Harper and the American's can call him Bush.

OT, but I loved Chretien. I mean the dude punched some guy at a protest.

Edit: It wasn't a punch.

From CNN.com

"The Canadian press dubbed the prime ministerial choke-hold on protester Bill Clennett the "Shawinigan handshake," a reference to Chretien's hometown."

Indeed, Chretien was freakin awesome. I mean, "A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof, and when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven." Classic.
