Actually, it appears that everyone seems to have missed the point of what I was getting at in my original post. In it, I was making a joke about how everyone has been referring to MGP as "Mister Grumpy Pants", when in fact the correct honorific for a young male monster would actually be "Master Grumpy Pants." However, I seem to have forgot that in this casual day and age most layman are apparently quite unfamiliar with such antiquated and (apparently) long forgotten forms of etiquette. My sincere apologies for the confusion.

I prefer Grumpy Pants Jr.

Or maybe Ted.

I vote for Hilary the Destroyer. Were gonna all witness it for real possibly soon. I only pray for a miracle, or MGP to show up for real and eat her Twisted Evil

Clover is the worst possible name for the monster seriously I tried to think of a worse one and my nose started to bleed. Just because the movie is called Cloverfield why in the hell does that mean we have to call such a badass monster such a wimpy stupid nonsense name.

Now I'm not usually one to judge but I have hated every single one of you who calls MGP the name Clover. I simply do not understand how anybody can think the name Clover is better than Mr. Grumpypants. And I guess if Clover doesn't stick you could always try calling the monster Pansy or Pussy Willow.

I could continue on my tangent of how alot of you piss me off, but I think you get the just of it.

Im really starting to think in the end, the monster will never have a name. If they wanna keep this super realistic, then thats the most obvious way. Unless hes given a nickname in a sequal. think about it, a new species is found they dont call it super destroyer, or Godzilla, they give it some technical latin species name. if its ever named in a movie its gonna be the scientific way

I've never liked Clover. It reminds me of a sappy cartoon a friends little sister watches called Totally Spies, and one of the teenage spywhores in it is called Clover.

My favorite so far is Darwin. Very Happy

I think MGP is a bit silly, but at the same time, the acronym itself is nice. Clover works fine for me as well, but if you wanna fit the movie's mysterious feel and mesh with the field of crytpozoology (the study of creatures that may or may not exist), why not just refer to it as 'the Cloverfield Monster'?

'Cloverfield Monster' sounds redundant.

Bob: Hey man you see the Cloverfield Monster in Cloverfield?
Bill: Yea, I saw the Cloverfield Monster in Cloverfield. Did you see Cloverfield?
Bob: Nah man, from what I've heard about Cloverfield, in Cloverfield the Cloverfield monster is one scary Cloverfield Monster.
Bill: Yea...
Bob: Cloverfield Monster Cloverfield Clover.
Bill: Right. Bye.

No, yeah, I could agree with that if people actually spoke like chimps with down syndrome.

Newsflash, chimps don't speak...just FYI Rolling Eyes

This dude on the facebook fan page for Cloverfield calls the monster "Clovie" . I spat out my drink when I saw that. Hilarious.

Sounds like a name you give to a small dog, here Clovie, Clovie, Clovie.

I've been watching TV a little lately, and I've noticed that most people in the media call the monster "Cloverfield." Which kind of rolls of the tounge anyway. It reminds me of when Marlena quipped "Are you familiar with Garfield." She could've say Snoopy...but no...she said a character with 'field' in it. It should've been Rodney Dangerfield as the monster...then they could've called the movie "Dangerfield." He's Alive! He's Huge! He's getting No Respect!

Anyway...Cloverfield is actually an OK name for the monster for me...It makes him sound like he's Brittish.

Clover sounds like something a 12 year old girl names her pony.

Since he's a baby, we could always call him Mister Goopy Pants.

Babies are just big germ balls.

Yea, I was thinking along the lines of that...but my idea was Mr. Grunty Pants. Babies usually have daipers full of grunt/goop so either work very well
