So, is there anything else about Marlena? Any conspiracies?

Other than she's a member of TIDOwave, no.

Lizzy Caplan is gorgeous. Not too keen on those Stuff pictures though, I like her hair shorter.

And I agree that anyone saying she "might not be dead" has something severely wrong with them.

But seeing a monster from the very deep deep ocean breathing just fine on land is an ok stretch of the imagination? Or that the same monster from the planet earth could resist damage to it that would have destroyed the most hardened object on earth. Thats fine to. But if someone sees a character taken behind a screen and sees some blood splatter, and thinks they could still be alive, well thats just being dumb? Confused

Did no one else notice the foreshadowing when they wheeled by a bite victim right before she starts crying blood & stuff?

The persons torso is completely blown open.

i think one of the main reasons why some people choose not to belive shes dead is cause we didnt see it with our own eyes. and there was a sheet of plastic in between the truth and us. but sometimes not everything has to be seen. it wold be pretty unbearable to see someone we like die right.??

i mean, matt reeves is good with human emotions, he subconsciously made us feel for her. The movie made us feel like it was so real that the characters become real people, and made everything seem real. I guess her death was just so undeserving. She died cause she helped Hud, and it was brave of her. We fell for her wit and i think its cause hud was sorta the guy behind the camera and the fact that we hear him all the time that he becomes sorta the main character and people always root for the main characters and the people they love.

Marlena's death scene totally made me cry. i mean, she was so surreal to me, her death was so SUDDEN, like- bite, dizzy, bleeding, screaming, vomiting blood, exploding.

Her acting capabilities are awesome too.

ps. did you guys realize that all Hud this was film her getting attacked and not even help her? Rob was the one who helped.

Rob lists her as one of the people who died, along with jason and hud. Pretty sure he had a better view than we did.

yeah..and?
you quoted my reply, but your reply doesn't seem to link.
i don't get what you are trying to say..

Um, a monster is, almost by definition, something extraordinary? Marlena is supposed to be just a human being, albeit a totally hot one.

being behind the screen before she exploded was not meant to drive curiosity. it was meant to not be too explicit and i think it was good that way.
i didn't want to see her explode and it would be too gory.

it isnt supposed to be a gore flick. its a monster flick.
focus on monsters that kill. not gory deaths that happen to hurt people.

the shock value is from the blood spatter on the screen.

And the head droppage after. That's the part that freaked me out, not the blood splatter, but the fact that you can see her head drop right after.

Her head doesn't drop, you can see her torso is just really small after the explosion.
Some people say it's a spine but it's not small enough. At least I don't think.

Her "head dropped" when the scientist holding her thought "EEEEWWWW!!!" and let go of what was left of her.

I really loved her as a character. I was just really surprised to hear about Caplan's dislike for her character when she finally found out about it. She still portrayed it amazingly well but I feel less connected with the character after hearing how the actor disliked her character.

where did you see that? Just curious to read it. You would think she would be into the character because of how similar it is to many of her other roles.
