Would definitely be an interesting grudge match between Clover and Cthulhu... Or even Dagon.

But honestly, I just wanna see Clover beat the shit out of 'Zilla.' Not 'Godzilla' but that sickly remake they did back in 98... It would kinda be a metaphorical apology to Toho for our terrible idea of a remake.

Actually i think its quite possible that we'll get some Clover vs. monster fights. I remember reading JJ describing Cloverfield as the American superhero monster response to Godzilla, and I dont see anybody considering Clover a good guy unless he kicks some uglier, more destructive monster's ass.

Yeah, but think about how outmatched Zilla would be (i.e., Clover eats missiles for breakfast, Zilla runs away, and is finally killed by just 6 of 'em).

And batsman: I don't think JJ said "superhero." Laughing And Clover's definitely not a "good guy."

I dont wanna say youre wrong but im pretty sure he said superhero. Damn now i need to find the interview. And i guess a better word than "good guy" would be lesser of two evils.

It would take a more destructive force than Clover to make it the good-guy.

Which is probably the biggest reason why this wont happen. Darwin was pretty damn destructive, so the "bad monster" would have to tear apart at least a country.

MGP, Zilla and Godzilla.

My 2 cents on the Zill, Godzilla, MGP thing. Zilla is no match for anyone, hes a wuss. In the last Godzilla movie, Final Wars, 300 plus foot, 60000 ton Godzilla disposes of the "tuna eater" as its called by the alien, quite quickly. Now Godzilla, he has faced a whole lot bigger and badder then MGP and pulled some shit out to do it. I dont want to say it because I know some of you strongly disagree bu......ok...I will.... The latest Godzilla would make pretty short work of MGP. MGP as best I can tell is slow and somewhat clumsy, has no special weapons (that we are aware of yet) and size wise is at about 250-300 feet tall (according to the production notes) and probably about 900 feet long tip to tip and is not nearly as girthy as Godzilla. He was definitely taking a beating from the military. G on the other hand has years and years of hand to hand combat and has taken just about every weapon man has come up with and come back again. Now, we can take what JJ said one of two ways in referring to MGP as an infant, one is that he in fact is a baby or that it was just a metaphor describing how he was reacting to this new place and environment. So there is a chance he could get a whole lot bigger and and a whole lot badder, maybe evening things out more or just becoming what we all can see is the ultimate giant monster of all times, but right now, he aint. Again, just my 2 cents, not that this fight is ever going to happen. Be one of those on paper debates like ESPN does with football teams from different eras.

Just wondering- where did we get the name Darwin?

Richie:

Forget Final Wars Godzilla, look at Godzilla from Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Sure, he's only 65 meters as opposed to 100, but check out that atomic ray! Oh, and the last scene of the movie...you just can't kill him!

Check th MGP's proper name topic. It was brought up, and it 's the best name I've heard yet.

The japanese gave their godzilla hacks in Final Wars, though. He kill the American Godzilla in a matter of seconds. What do you think would happen if they pit Jap Godzilla against Clover? It would be dead so quickly. Japanese cheat

Considering that Paramount owns Clover and Soho owns Godzilla- Neither Godzilla or Clover would go down w/o a fight simply because Clover and Godzilla would be nothing more than a 'pissing contest' for both companies.

Hopefully in the next Cloverfield movies, Clover will become a little bit more... 'stable' than he appeared in the latest movie. Also, we STILL don't know how tough Clover is... So perhaps Godzilla's Atomic Breath would simply just piss Clover off even more. Or... if neither company would budge about who the winner should be- make up a third competitor... Something that Clover and Godzilla must fight together in order to win. But from how I see it now- Clover has a lower intelligence then the O.G. so there would be no recognition between ally or enemy.
