[SPOILERS] Coney Island scene - not the splash.

And I DID search and saw nothing regarding what's going on at the bottom of the screen.

So everyone is so fixated on this splash - personally I saw what looked like a splash but didn't see anything falling from the sky. I was trying to explain the ARG to the folks on the Horrorfind message boards (we had practically no discussion of this movie there)

Someone asked for a screen capture of the splash so I went in search of. Finding nothing of good quality I stumbled across this fairly decent you tube capture

After watching it a million times and reading a couple of the quotes from Matt Reeves:

"Did you see the thing in the last shot? In the final shot there's a little something, and I don't wanna say what it is. The final shot before the titles. The stuff at Coney Island, there's a little something there and I don't want to give it away 'cause the fun is sort of to find it, but I will say this: there's a funny thing, you look at the shot and until you see it you don't see it and you really don't see it and obviously you don't 'cause none of you have seen it, but once you see it you'll never stop seeing it."

I looked and looked and decided to stop looking at that darned wake after the boat (because I swear that's all that is)

I found this:

Now I know everyone is focused on the splash:

But I think what I have circled is What Reeves was really talking about.

Look at the pics then go watch the you tube video (linked above) - it's so clear why didn't we see this?

I'm sure it would still fit into a topic discussing the scene

That's a generalization though, those are mostly about the satellite piece, aren't they? Granted I've only been here for two weeks, I haven't seen anything about the possibility of a second "secret" in the Coney Island scene.

Unless you want to contain all of the "Coney Island" stuff in one thread, but I think that makes it easier for information to get skewed, because multiple conversations are going on at once.

Yoo so funnE Patrick .... Rolling Eyes

I never noticed that lil' azplozion thingy b4 ... Confused

A bunch of us saw the "Something" falling & crashing into the ocean - it's nearly impossible 2 see in the youtube versions tho ... Cursing

I think it blends into the sky too well to see it falling - all that can b seen is the splash (which looks like a wake if you don't see it in the sky first.) Confused

There, I edited the title of the post to differentiate it from the supposed splash stuff.

If there is indeed something else besides the splash in this scene, then I think it deserves its own thread (I have a thread about easter eggs, and I'm not complaining that this was made).

About the thing...WTF?!? It's a UFO, lol

Could it be part of a ride? This youtube version isn't the best...

It seemed to be blinking, or something, just like a carnival ride.
