This is assuming MGP is a mammal, which is a dubious assumption at best...

I thought it has been established that the Cloverfield Monster is an ALIEN, as in not of this world.

It's pretty much been determined that the opposite is true.

No, not JUST a mammal... but a compilation of all things.

No. and No for Clover as well. MGP should stay MGP. What is wrong with Mr. Grumpy Pants?

It perfectly describes him/her/it/. Darwin and Clover dont do that. They are not good names for this monster.

And Mr. Grumpy Pants IS???? Have you ever said it aloud? Makes you question your sexuality a bit. I'm sorry, but MGP is THE MOST childish, ridiculous, embarrassing, degenerate name I've ever heard of... Mr. Grumpy Pants is what a retard would call the monster if they DIDN'T like the monster at all. Maybe I'm just too old or a bit too mature to understand the ferocity that Mr. Grumpy Pants is supposed to give our monster. I really wouldn't be surprised if Chris Crocker came up w/ that name because honestly- it's on that level. Last time I checked, our monster is supposed to be head-to-head w/ Japan's Godzilla, that's what J.J. Abrams was going for anyways, and I just don't think that Mr. Grumpy Pants even carries a smidgen of weight that the name "Godzilla" carries. Does Clover or Darwin carry any weight behind them? Probably not, but I can promise you it's 100 times more understandable than MGP/Mr. Grumpy Pants. If anything, The creature in Cloverfield will simply take on the same persona as the shark in Jaws.

The shark in Jaws is simply known as Jaws.

The monster in Cloverfield will simply be known as Cloverfield.
[unless the producers come up w/ an official (in movie) name]

If you question your sexuality just because you call something MGP, you should question your sexuality, xboy.

Wow I get flamed for no reason. And what does questioning my sexuality have to do with a name. I have got no clue.

Thanks for the backup, Oli. Wow where have these threads gone.

that's the best response you can give me? A snide remark? I mean, I'm pissing all over the name "Mr. Grumpy Pants" simply because I'm stating the obvious about it's lack of ferocity that our monster deserves and you're making snide childish remarks about me?

I wasn't meaning for it to be snide. Sorry if it came across that way.

If you had left out the whole, "Question your sexuality for calling something this." I would have been fine with your post.

who said I was 'flaming' you? I made no personal attacks against your sexuality or anything that surrounds JUST you. I'm attacking the ridiculousness that is the name "Mr. Grumpy Pants."

It could have been anyone that made the remark you did, and it wouldn't have mattered... I hold no grudge towards you personally... just than damn name.

I was aiming for a 'sarcastic humor' w/ that... I know people are that fickle to have issues w/ their sexuality over something like that.
