Sorry, dont mean to flood, but since this looks like its on private property, here is a list of the houses and owners on that street. If someone else gets to it before my contact, make sure to be polite and dont trespass!

Dear God...

(couldn't resist)

Actually, the links to the pics that were backwards - the one in Tx is incorrect. Whoever got the pic left out a number, so the coords in the Tx pic is inaccurate! Don't go there, it's not in somebody's yard! Laughing Give me a sec and I'll put up the correct image and you can see it's not in anybody's yard. The coords were wrong Wink

As I said, we can go check it out tomorrow, not a problem. Just wanted to post that since we noticed the error and it hasn't been posted yet.

Pictures to go along with the coordinates.

Third camera in Florida (corresponding Google Maps link) ;
Fourth one in Texas (corresponding Google Maps link)

This was the post I was referencing. I'm not referring to the FL and TX pics being mixed up, but the image provided in the link showing the location by the house - the coords there are incorrect - check against the 'machine' coords Wink Look at the link for FL, which is the one for Tx actually and read the coords printed there - that's not what was shown in the code.

kk

So is this where your friend is closer to or? We can work out a meetup and check it out if you want to do that. We just caught the error and would hate for people to end up at somebody's house!

About the Turk

Something had been bugging me about the Turk when I saw the SCC episode that featured it. Not sure if this matters or means anything, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

The Turk WAS a real invention as the show said. But it was also a fraud.

A chess master hid in the cabinet underneath the Turk and operated the hands and pieces to win the matches. In other words, you were never playing the Turk, you were playing the guy inside the Turk.

Maybe this means nothing, but maybe it means there's an actual person behind the show's Turk?

I went to the Orlando site twice, both times were after dark. The first time I had Euchre helping me but his power died (oops) which caused his internet to drop. The second was after I saw a better picture of the area but the park had closed so I didn't stick around too long. I will try to get back there this afternoon after work. Hopefully daylight will help.

If the one vpisteve found is anything to go by, look for freshly dug earth. This may bot be a lot of help given the locale, but you never know...
