Adding to this, what if TAG's downed satellite was a ruse to look for more SBN (a satellite falling from space would have been in pieces, but from a lower part of the atmosphere)? They turn their oil rig into a refinery for SBN in order to market it to America.

Looking at the pics on 1-18-08.com, I wonder if that's the mother that was killed and on the beach? We know the monster is a baby, but where's its mother? Maybe by the drilling equiptment or by whatever machinery was being used at the rig? That would explain why either Clover or his mother destroyed the rig. If this were true, then you have a baby monster with limited food supply and no mother. So, he goes looking for food and finds new york.

I don't think that TAG created the monster as Abrams said the monster is 1,000s of years old.

Just my thoughts... I hope the DVD has a LOT of extras.
