My favorite is Hud's "I'll.. um.. document it"

But then, I missed the "Something Terrible" exchange originally.

MGP: ROAR!!!

Beth: What is that?!

Hud: Something terrible.

[later]

{the parasite sequence}

Beth: what is that ?!

Hud: Something else, also terrible.

or

Marlene: wait, you know who superman is?! Hey, have you ever heard of Garfield??

No no no.

"What is that!?"

"It's a terrible thing."

"What is THAT?"

"Another thing... also terrible"

Most misquoted line in the whole movie.

And also the best in my opinion.

Also it's more like

"WHAT IS THAT!!!???"

"It's... a terrible thing."

I also like the conversation where Hud suggests
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
they climb up one building and transfer over to the roof of another collapsed building.
They immediately accept that idea and he responds, "never mind, nevermind... no, wait! It was a bad idea."

Also, whatever it was Hud was muttering to himself when he was trying to psyche himself up to talk to Marlena before he makes that sudden turn.

"What's up?"
"What's up?"
"What's up?"
"What's up?"

Best line in the entire film..............

"IT'S A LION! IT'S HUGE!"

...sorry, I coudln't help myself. I couldn't believe nobody else had done it yet. When my friends and I are talking about it, someone else will undoubtedly join in the convo and ask what it was. We reply first by saying:
"It's a Lion, it's huge."
Then followed by
"It's Terrible"

They're just too easy to setup.

I find it hilarious that that line wasn't even in the movie in that context. In fact when the "It's Alive" line was said it really didn't make much sense.

Mine were 2:
1) The Tunnels

HUD: "Wouldn't it be so scary if a flaming homeless man came running through the tunnels?"

Or something like that.

2) @ The Party

Jason: "I Love you, but lets face it, you're kind of a douchebag."

It's funny that such a simple line created so much speculation. The best part is that we all get a good chuckle out of it, and people that aren't in the "know" are like "What the hell?"

My friends have been quoting that to each other all week long. Plus the flaming homeless guy one, plus the Superman one. Someone seriously needs to make a Wikiquote page for Cloverfield, and fast.

My favs,

HUD "I just cant stop thinking how freaky it'd be if a FLAMING HOMELESS GUY ran out at us right now!"

Marlena: "Whoa whoa whoa, do YOU know who Superman is? Are-are you even aware of GARFIELD?"

Lily: "Well, even though we're not OFFICIALLY family yet..."
Jason "Whoa, hang on honey..."

well, forgive me, I can't afford to see the movie more than once, since the only worthwhile theater in driving distance is an hour away, plus ticket prices.

The reason no one else has said it yet is because that joke died 4 months ago.

It's not funny anymore. Sorry.
