Object falling from the sky at the end of the movie is OOG?
SPEC

Chuai is in the mid-atlantic. You would never see something land in the Mid-atlantic from a ferris wheel in Coney Island.

Here's a thought: What if that object actually fell out of the sky while they were filming and it wasn't supposed to be apart of the movie?

Dude, it's probably just the Tag satellite. If so, that could mean anything.

Point is that you can't see something land in the mid-atlantic ocean from coney island.
Considering the max amount of distance a human eye can see is approx 70 miles w/o haze, this places the object too close to shore to have any relation to MGP.

It didn't say MID-Atlantic... just said "Atlantic"

Quote:
Although Hatsui's work has not yet been able to confirm the identity of the fallen piece, Tagruato scientists and engineers are busily trying to track and recover the fragment. According to Hatsui data, it disappeared into the Atlantic Ocean late last week.

So, it could have been possible that it crashed closer to Coney Island than you're thinking.

I believe it was Reeves that said in an interview that they had put something there, and when the interviewer mentioned the splashdown, Reeves' response confirmed it to be intentional. Nowhere do we really have information that says whatever splashed down did so right at Chuai.

the object has nothing to do with Chuai.

as Reeves states, it has to do with the origin of the Monster.

and no it is NOT the monster (according to Abrams the monster has been under the ocean floor for thousands of years)

so did this object simply wake up the monster? or is there something else. another connection?

Fix'd mainly because there were a few interviews stating it had to do with the movie. also what would fall randomly out of the sky?

A possibility that maybe the satellite woke up MGP, and if Slusho! is some how indeed related to this, MGP smells the SBN being drilled at Chiuai (Spelling, my fault) and when he got there, was content at first, but then got disgruntled (similar to Jamie) and attacked. After the station fell, there would not be anymore SBN being drilled, and he was so to say, withdrawling, and then smelled some SBN on the TAG tanker, and headed there, and once exhausting his supply of SBN, enraged again, he attacks New York.

speculation, of course.

a satalite would make a bigger splash than that.... if you arent looking for it , it looks like a damn wave in the ocean and the object is so tiny its ridiculous, not to mention the splash lands closer to land than the boat u can clearly see...also not to mention that Reeves said if you look close in that scene u can see "where the monster" comes from, and JJ Abrams said it has been living in the ocean for 1000s of years, so the producers/directors/writers/viral campagin writers are not on the same page which is another reason I think people need to just take a break and stop looking at every little thing and hope for a sequel or wait for answers that may or may not come

no. Reeves did not say "you can see where the monster comes from" in that scene. that's grossly incorrect.

he said that the last scene, there is something that gives a clue or idea (what was the actual word he used?) of to the Monster's origins. that still means Abrams was correct about the Monster living under the ocean floors for thousands of years.

by the way -- that was said in the production notes. you can't get any more valid than that.
