 		[Spec] Off to China Today
Well, as per her blog, Dana is set to leave for China sometime today (almost the 29th here). Personally, I'm expecting something big to go down. My theory is that the Opperator is going to try something..bad. At the very least, try to stop her from going...

Anyone else want to chime in before things go down?

 		hell yes i do, and by the way i dont think shes going to leave until about 7 or 8 in the morning, but i havent checked the countdown latley, as i use firefox, not i.e.

 		The countdown on the site works fine in Opera (but then again, the JS support of Opera is like 10 fold over Firefox)..

Anyhow, the countdown from here says just 8 hours, 30 minutes from now (not looked at that JS source so I dont' know if it's running off of local time). So I'm expecting a blog update before/around then..

 		Yeah, I suspect that when Dana goes to China, more of the story will become clear. Many people have thought (as have I) that by the time Dana gets to China, The Operator will be able to do things such as get into other computer systems, such as that of an airplane, more spesifically, Dana's airplane. If that is true, then The Operator will be able to go to other websites. But, I am not sure if Dana will die on an operator inflicted plane crash, because I am starting to think that the Pious Flea might be the antagonist of the story.

Wow. You have a sick mind. Probably easier to just cancel her reservation and leave her stuck stateside. Easier on the story, too.

 		See, I thought about Melissa causing Dana's plane to crash too, but then I changed my mind. From an ARG standpoint, that may just be a little too far out of the realistic view (considering a plane crash would be headline news). So that got me thinking about the comment placed over the about.html killer webcam photo. The whole part about "knowing who you love" has me leaning towards something with Margaret..

..a wild theory, I know..lol..but hey, that's half the fun..lmao *grins* Very Happy

Or, change her File (as in The File Held by The Government) so that facial recognition systems recognize her as a suspected terrorist? Completely OT, but I was thinking about it yesterday. One of a few things will happen to Dana at this point:

1) Written out of the story now. First inkling here was plane crash too, but don't think that will be taken well, esp since we can verify any plane crashes and no airline would want to be known as the airline that reported a fake crash. So, maybe just remove her from play by having her unable to access anything. But then we (the players) would need another source of information beyond the Queen, SPDR, etc. We could then be introduced to another human player, but not sure who it could be.

2) Kept in the story and slowly driven insane by the Queen. The problem with this is that you would think that after a certain point, a normal person would turn off the computer and not expose herself to it. At that point, though, it's likely that the AI would have branched out and be able to reach her in other ways ("know what you buy", etc....lots of cameras on stoplights here in California, so the AI could track her that way).

3) Kept in the story for the time being and then written out. This could be most likely, as it would provide a sense that the AI has truely spread out, beyond merely hacking websites. It would prove that the AI can take control of critical systems and show that it is intelligent about taking out the enemy.

4) I'm completely full of it. Very likely as well. Smile

All right, all! Dana has too much knowledge to leave this early in the game. I suspect e-mail will be the only way to contact her at this stage.

Also, I think an important piece to consider as we try to figure out who exactly are the baddies is to look at the current infestation Margaret is facing from the Korroa s(sp). Very alien-esque and may useful as a metaphor for what is occuring within Dana's computer.
