Actually after considering the topic of that thread, mention of the cameras handed out is a bit OT for it - freebie handouts at some premieres is not an easter egg in the film, and is not a clue from within the film itself. Therefore I don't see a reason why it can't migrate into it's own topic.

(This is actually a good example of how you can post in an existing thread to test the idea of spawning a new one.)

It would seem nobody is coming forth to offer any such pics though, or even any other corroborating evidence that such cameras were passed out. It's a shame really, I wish we had pics of all the various freebies handed out at the various premiere locations (when anything was passed out).

i've mentioned this in two other posts...so this will be the last time

but i'm glad this thread has been made bcoz this is the best place to put it...

I was at the Australian premiere in Sydney on the 16/01/08 (or 01/16/08 for you americans)
we had an adress from JJ Abrams on screen which was a general one to his international audience...

anyway...there was a lady on a microphone at the front of the cinema...and she announced that someone had a golden ticket under their seat...and that person would win a video camera...

she then went on to say that there is some secret preloaded footage on there...

unfortunately...our cinema is the only one i've heard that gave away a video camera with footage...so we may never find out...

Second - Trixx, what you just told us makes me frustrated, because you know that it was probably some douche that barely knows what Cloverfield is that got the camera. That sucks.

yeah i understand

i'm frustrated by it too

at least with the cameras...they give out a few...and you're bound to find someone that cares...

I didn't know the guy that won it
unfortuantely...the australian premiere was via blackcurtain (as dave mentioned on Cloverfield Clues...which i'm glad he did or i would've missed the premiere)...but yeah blackcurtain is a myspace promotion thing...so there was more teeny boppers there to get a free movie than ppl who actually knew about the film and the viral campaign...

however when the girl on the microphone asked does anyone have an idea what the monster is...one guy yelled out "its a lion...its huge!"

so that made me feel a lil bit better...haha
