It's counting down to 8:24 no matter where you are. It's coming off our computer's clock, like the big countdown.

Right now, it's displaying

Time to China!

to me. The counter rolled over, but as Dana told us, she used a simple javascript, so I guess I'll have to wait till 8.24am in the correct timezone

allowing roughly 2-3 hrs for international flight airport time (its needed nowadays), there are two flights at 11:55 (United and All Nippon Airways).
United Airlines 9689
All Nippon Airways 7

Probably unlikely, but has anyone checked Oakland International Airport as well? If she's actually in SF she's probably using SFO, but OAK is also a big airport in the area. Not sure if they'd fly to China though.

I was wondering what might have inspired Dana to choose Bejing as her destination... was it random choice or did something catch her eye?
I had a look at what there is to see in Beijing, the first thing that caught my eye was this:
http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/beijing/observa.htm
Its also the place where 'Peking Man' was found, human remains about 500,000 years old.
More Beijing tourist attractions here:

Probably not relevent in the slightest but its interesting to speculate what Dana's motivations in choosing Beijing were.

Well, looks like Dana is gone, escaped and out of the story. Also away from technology, so out of reach of the vengeful AI after her.
We do seem to have a new in-game contact though. The entity that some have referred to as the 'sleeping princess'. The prevalent theory seems to be that it's hijacked the site E-mail address, and is replying to us by cannibalizing the mails we send into semi-coherent messages, and then sending them back.

I'm not so convinced we've seen the last of Dana. For a start, she's not actually left for China yet, has she? (I'm in the UK, so the countdown timer reads the wrong numbers for me; goddamned timezones)
She's one of the few "concrete" things we have in the story so far - if she has left this early on (without addition of extra information or clarification of other characters roles), we're left hanging with little except (some very well thought out) speculation.

Yeah, if there's going to be any updates, they would probably occur after 8:24 PST....
