I'm gonna go ahead and say that one is probably the legit beginning of something. I just got the same e-mail, with the same attachment.

EDIT: I replied, saying thank you for the song, and asking what corporate censors they were worried about? I got what seemed like an auto-reply just a few minutes later.

It's still got that Yori signature at the bottom. I'm gonna run the e-mail address and the info I've got so far. Could be a viral for a band or something maybe?

2nd Edit: The name is a pretty standard Japanese name, so nothing on that yet. Another thought... it's a Gmail account, so how would a 'corporate censor' send me an auto-reply?

Got an answer from Tanaka.

Dont worry, i still get your emails. There are some privileges of being the head secretary for the CEOs here. However from what I can tell there is too much security going on. What is your name? My name is Yori. My last name is Tanaka.

Either a few of us got random e-mails from some chick in Japan, or this is the beginning of something pretty cool. I responded by giving my name and asking for some more information, namely where he/she got my contact info and what company he/she works for.

The filename consists of two characters:
復讐 (provided your browser can display them)

Their meaning is "revenge" or "vengeance".

Since the last one I got (see above) made no further mention of the song in question, I'm starting to wonder about my previous theory on a band advert. However, the song itself being sent was pretty random. I didn't catch the morse code mentioned above, even though I listened to it about a thousand times. Anyone else have any insight into this?

I was reading article about ARG's on wired.com and noticed one of the comments left at the bottom of the page was kind of trailhead like.

It was from a history teacher who had been sent some strange Egyptian artifact called a Hexagon Box, she had encountered it in the past and was terrified of it. She says if you want to know more about the Hexagon Box you should contact a guy called Dr. Thai Hawass at:

http://museum.24ex.com

So I went there and it gives you the option of going to Dr. Thai Hawass' private page however it asks you for a password. It also gives you a hint:

It is the last word in the book of beginnings.

My first guess would be its talking about genesis but a bible reference would be a little strange for something to do with Egypt.

Well thats it, tell me what you think.

EDIT: But then the last word of geniesis is Egypt.

Schedule a flight (even with fake cc numbers as I did) and you get a reservation for a flight to use at the flight kiosk.

That worked.

Yep, booked myself a flight to Ciro tomorrow on flight 125G.

Well I sent an e-mail to Dr. Hawass asking for any information on Hexagon Boxes, from his blog he seems to have found the Hexagon Box and is freaked out by strange things that have been taking place since its discovery. His e-mail is tahihawassSPLATatlantis-webportfolios.com

EDIT: Well I got an e-mail back telling me it was an auto response and Hawass was out of his office, but at the bottom it had a message saying he is in hiding. He's afraid of a secret society called The Apex of Khufu who are after the Hexagon box.
He gives a link to this site:

http://groups.google.com/group/drhawass/browse_thread/thread/3a86febd243bb840

There he says you need to infiltrate The Apex of Khufu to find out what they want with the box.

Well I'm gonna look into this some more.

[META]

Just thought it prudent to mention that while this is definitely a self-described ARG by the creator, I'm not sure we're the intended audience.

It was created as a classroom exercise and I wouldn't feel good about spoiling it for the teachers who might want to use it in their curriculum.

Link to "Teachers" page from the creators:

I don't know. But when I read down to the part that said F!@#* God, that made me not care either. I'm out.
