Just posting this here to try and revive the thread. I got an anonymous email today which seems to fit with the game.

By the looks of things, someone knows about how Simone is digging for info on that SM group.

I have the same e-mail, so it is definitely IG.
[SPEC] the number 722304b012 could mean something[/spec]

Good to have it confirmed. I've tried sending a reply to it asking for info, and I've passed it on to Simone as well.
As for the number, I get back to the house in an hour or 2. I'll see if it means anything then (It's 10 digits as well Smile )

Are those assigned or can the sender pick them? Can someone illuminate me on that?

Also, the friend who is currently teaching me guitar thought the numbers might be some form of tab when I prompted him with the question "what are numbers used for in music?" that was the first thing that popped into his head, but we don't know the strings or anything, which makes it unlikely in my mind.

the numbers was the sender's "name" so it was defined by the sender (since Highwind and I had the same numbers)

New Post up on Assassin Diaries

Quote:
(early) 02/04/08

Other than getting kicked out of a club and Lady/Killer being sick, the weekend has been uneventful. I've decided to go with the only answer that seems viable - I've emailed TM and hopefully will get a response from him soon. The Villain - or V.L.N. as he apparently wants to be addressed (who said villains weren't quirky?) is getting impatient.

And old... "friend" has popped up on my radar today. He gave me a message, courtesy of the vet I took L/K to (I've transcribed it since my cameraphone is on the fritz, I wonder why...?):

attente de l'ordre. observation de vous. mon employeur dit que vous prenez trop long. si l'eau goûte étrange, vous savez que j'ai été là.

Of course after this, I can't help but go into lockdown mode while I wait for TM's response. I can only hope I've given him the correct answer. The other avenues for finding the end to this tale have been temporarily... blockaded.

The French roughly translates out to
Quote:
waiting about the order. observation of you. my employer says that you take too long. if water tastes strange, you know that I was there.

I guess we failed with the numbers, I'm not sure what answer she's reporting.

Ah, I believe I can clarify that one. We may not have failed with the numbers just yet you see. I was working on the numbers along with AD, and using some hints from her, came up with number 22 on the single charts for 12/11/1965.
The single in question was "THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE" by Simon & Garfunkel. It was also the one that backed their rise to fame as well. Since she didn't have any other answers, she's gone with that one.
Would have posted it last night, but I needed to get to bed.

Thanks Highwind, I thought maybe 12/11/1965 had something to do with the last performance of the Beatles in Great Britain, but I couldn't make sense of the 22, so yours sounds pretty damn good.

If that's right (and it sounds really good), very nice work, that one had me stumped.

EDIT: and after double checking, that date it's wrong anyway.

From the Latest Scoop

After much trying, it looks like highwind came up with the correct answer. I sent it to TM. His response:

I thought you'd given up. It would have been better if you had.
Here's your next, it should be easy for someone like you:

Cuddle the cat, drink the Jack...
If you can sing it, send it back.

Just an update to bump the thread:

Highwind figured out the last puzzle,
Quote:

So, now on the Latest Scoop Page we have,

It looks like we're moving along. Another great solve by highwind -

, given to TM, granted the next wish, I think. He emailed me and told me to look at his calendar. I'm headed over there right now...

And I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at on the calendar

If we're supposed to go to one of the events, then I'm out seeing as theres nothing near me. But, on an OOG note it's seems improbable if not impossible for a GM to be able to make it to all of these events, unless we're dealing with a huge number of GMs, or pre-placed drops I think visiting locations is out of the question. I'll leave that up to anyone willing to travel to one though.

In the meantime I'm going to keep looking for clues on his calendar page. It can't hurt for anyone in contact with AD or TM to ask what we're looking for, determine whether anyone should put the effort into going out to locations.

EDIT: And of course while I was typing this she put up the next puzzle (I still don't know where that was if anyone wants to point it out to my big dense head).

Quote:
And here's number five in case you missed it on the calendar:

1.1 in 24… well, you could say we cut the strings. Freedom is nice – we sang for Bart, reveled in being famous, told you to hold the pickle and then quietly did what Kurt said not to… We faded away.

EDIT: I suggested N Sync, it's worth a shot since they had an album named "No Strings Attached", cameoed on the Simpsons, "hold the pickles" is a lyric from one of their songs, and of course they faded away.

I'd like to add I in no way condone listening to N Sync music.

At least we're getting somewhere. Also, where has everybody gone?

I'm just trying to figure out where these puzzles are leading. So far we've got a bunch of puzzles but not much plot.

eta: And what WERE we supposed to find on the calendar? I didn't see anything there related to puzzle 5.

I never found the puzzle on the calendar either, but AD posted it as Puzzle Five.

As for plot, I joined in because I liked the stories on The Diaries page. You should read them if you haven't already, they're different for an ARG plot, and will give you some more background on AD.

But I'm hoping we get more intertwined with the plot soon. To me this seems like the PM(s) is using the riddles to time the game, and prepare for the next phase.

But, speaking of plot, has anyone had any interactions with characters through IM or e-mail recently?

Hm, I haven't had my IM programs running often, but I havent' seen AD on them for a while.
As for plot, we just have to solve enough puzzles to please TM, then we're onto more plot.
