Hate to burst your bubbles but if anything, she's more suspicious than ever.

The e-mails are unimportant but I've been speaking with her and she knows some of you are hiding something and she wants to know what it is. I have agreed and I, being un-trusting, have decided to "help" her... so to speak...

;]

Pretty much, I'm trying to lead her down a false trail.
At this point, there isn't much we can do to make her less suspicious, at least in my opinion, so we should point her suspicions in the wrong direction.

The Box is obscenely dangerous, as I knew when I was asked to pressure

fact...I'm only here right now because circumstance gave me a strong card
to play.

And right now, I need to prepare for contingencies. Seems there are a few
more sharks swimming in the water now.

Game? Guess she doesn't take her job as seriously as I thought. Game my ass.

ok.. trying to switch gears..

Me:

Hello again Delilah...

So I have been hearing hushed talks about me.. and I am saddened.
I knew I hit a nerve with you, but I didn't think I upset you that much.
I am sorry you have gotten such an ill will towards me. But honestly,
causing all my dear friends to start to not trust me really hurts..
They said you call yourself a snake... and I know you call yourself a Shark...
but I didn't think you would bite me that hard for a simple overreaction
after a bad day at work. Oh well.. I guess I can't blame you too much.
But I had a better day today... so I will return to normal, hurt, but normal.

I heard you got a new project, with an important phone call.
Hope it went ok for you. I also heard you might be sent back to
Europe. That's too bad, I know you were at least somewhat enjoying
your stay in New York.

Please reply.. even if it's to cuss me out and tell me never to talk to you again.
Thanks.

ok, in order. remember, take nothing personally....

Me

Quote:
Good Day Delilah,

Hope the day finds you well. Things around here are still quite tense, which is to be expected. Reminders of my days with the "boys club". I do so miss power lunches. Someone has sown the seeds of mistrust well. I am frustrated at the passengers lack of focus on Edwin, as I believe that is where our efforts should be concentrated, but apparently the witch hunt is on. Most of the passengers are still so young and unseasoned. Their idealism is refreshing at times, but THIS is not one of them. Sometimes compromises must be made for the greater good, and then terms re-negotiated at a later date, when your bargaining position is stronger.

I understand that you have been making inquiries regarding Flynn and have raised questions regarding his intentions. Before I get into this let me say this. I am not as readily trustful or as vehemently distrustful as the others. I am of the philosophy that business is business and that divulging all of your positions is not wise for obvious reasons. Who plays poker while showing all their cards? And although I do not entirely trust you Delilah (as I am sure you feel the same regarding me), I respect your position, and do hope that you will respect mine when I say that the ONLY information I am at liberty to share is this: I have been assured that Flynn WILL deliver on time for negotiations. Flynn's lack of communication and divulgence of information is warranted and he is confident that he has a strong set of plans and contingent strategies prepared for the bargaining table.

I have shared the same information with the passengers, so I am sure I am telling you nothing new. Unlike the rest of the passengers, I will not share every morsel of information with them or you. Of course, this has made me a bit unpopular with some of the group, but I under such conditions alienating my friends is a necessary evil. Whether you, the passengers or anyone else involved is pleased by my actions or decisions is not my concern. My goal is for the best possible outcome with minimal negative consequences.

Cordially,

Nikki

Delilah

And you're the one Loli has been trying to set up. I couldn't quite remember as we haven't been in contact as much.

Good to know you're hiding things. Keep the cards close to your chest, right? I love it. Well, I appreciate the information. You've given me a lot here.

As for Edwin, he's in good hands. There are a few others who see the big picture.

Delilah

Me

Quote:
Loli you say? That's good to know, although I am neither surprised, nor concerned. She and I have a history of butting heads, but my experience gives me the upper hand. No matter, she has her opinions, and I have mine.

As for the information, I haven't told you anything really that isn't already available. it was information I was permitted to share with the passengers, and felt that it was relevant to do so. I am sure the others have already passed it on.

Dear sweet Edwin, thank you for the assurances regarding his situation, however considering certain volatile personalities involved, I am concerned that Edwin will end up taking the brunt if things do not go a certain way.

Ok, after I bashed Nikki a bit to Deliliah, here is her reply:

Quote:
And this is the nature of power, Love. She obviously feels power in her
position. If she knows these things for real and isn't sharing them, it
must give her a position of power. Even if it's just imagined, she must
crave it. I feel for you but am used to this sort of thing. If you can,
look her in the eyes and listen to the words she chooses.

If it's who I think it is...she made a big slip today anyways. I could
probably tell you somethings she might know. Of course, I'm going to hold
back until I get a certain contact confirming some things.

Got to go...in the middle of a big project. I just had a minute or two to
kill.

So, here's the long string: (guilt tripping, ftw!)

Me:
Quote:
I know I'm beating a dead horse here (and I know you're probably more concerned with the Flynn/Jonah situation or whatever's going on there) but I can't stop wondering as to Edwin's fate. The Queen still has him, yes? So, does she intend to release him eventually? .. ever?

Would you please, please find out what you can for me? I know I have no room to ask for a favor, but I can't help it, and for some reason I find you might be willing to bend a little for me in this respect. You continue to call him names, and I do not protest -- but Edwin is in fact a very dear friend.

I'm sorry to come across as annoying. But, just as you have die-hard ambitions, I have my own as well. I'll stop asking once you've had your fill of chatter about him, but that just means I'll go to another source in my quest for information. I'd rather not, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Thank you, as always, Delilah -- Clementine

Delilah:
Quote:
Actually, I've decided I like Edwin. He's quite naive but, of course, very intelligent. I've been spending more time with him than I expected. I see him as an innocent here. When I can, I'll push for his release. But now is not a good time.

Me:
Quote:
Delilah,

Thank you very much. I'm glad you found some spare time to speak with Edwin. He's a very gentle soul, as you seem to have noticed. A little reclusive, but genuinely likable when he finally opens up. Kind of like someone else I know ...

Anyway, I hope all's well. Drop a line and let me know what's up when you're not too busy?

Thanks as always -- Clementine

EDWIN!
Quote:
Clem

I'm sure you'll be skeptical about this (and frankly, I'd be disappointed
if you weren't) but it's Edwin. Delilah has allowed me to send out two
emails. I chose you because more than anyone else, you made a constant
effort to reach me in this awful time. I can't say much...Delilah reserved
the right to edit my message if I said something over the line.

I miss you guys dearly. I'm ok though. Things were very scary at first.
Now they've gotten quiet. Jonah was very kind while he was here. I hope
things go well for him. I don't know what's planned for me. Delilah gives
me a hard time but she's actually been somewhat nicer the last few days.

I hold out hope that this is temporary.

I miss you. Oh...since she will only let me send two emails, please don't
tell the others. There are so many of you I would contact if I could. I
don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt... especially Ptolemy, Lisa,
Melody & Loli, who, like you have been so kind to me.

Edwin

NOTE: Okay, I know he said not to share, but at this point it's rather trivial whom he sent this message to -- would've been the same text to anyone else, I'm sure. Please don't get mad at him about it (or me! ;___;). I feel bad enough as it is that I read the thing out loud to everyone in Vent without reading through it first by myself (because you know me, I wanna' share good news!).

ANYWAY -- /end two cents

Me to Delilah:
Quote:
I got Edwin's e-mail, and as he pointed out -- yes, I'm suspicious of it.

But, I'd like to think the message is genuine and you really did allow him to contact someone for that brief moment.

I've been thinking this morning, about dynamic characters? You see, there are few 'bad guys' that do not either get their come-uppance, redemption, or end up changing somehow for the better by the end. These rare few (and they are few) are the more interesting people. Because, their motivation is already welded onto a single idea, mindset, or personality trait. Unrelenting will, to carry out some goal or to live in such a way that suits them best. Rather admirable, I think. In fact, I almost envy their conviction ('almost' being the keyword there).

So while I see this gesture as an act of goodwill, I don't, for a second, think you've gone soft.

Has the Queen by any chance given thought to releasing Edwin? I'm not exactly sure why she thinks she needs him there anymore. He's done his task, yes? If anything, holding him captive for this long has surely 'taught him his lesson'. You could probably even attest to this for her Majesty.

But, I wouldn't want you to get into trouble. Speak what you will -- you know how I feel, and I apologize for continually bringing the matter up.

Hope all is well. No more drinking, eh? (At least not in ill amounts; wink!) -- Clementine

Her reply this morning:
Quote:
I had a long conversation with Edwin last afternoon. I posed
hypotheticals to him and, believe it or not, he listened and was very
courteous the whole time. You guys have had a big effect on him. I've
spoken with him before. He always avoided me.

I felt a pang of guilt. And a bit of sympathy. I hope you liked it. I
will speak no more of it.

Dynamic bad guys, eh? Anything is possible, love. It'd be nice if we
weren't enemies. But with so many of your fellows actively working to
frustrate my efforts, or at least playing mind games, I can't believe in
anyone's intentions.

Delilah

I hope she helps us with Edwin. Personally, I think she's our best bet at getting him returned to us sooner than later (or not at all; sniff!).

Lemme' know what you guys think. I'm not gonna' press her about it anymore since I don't want to come off as annoying, but maybe a few others could send her e-mails asking her to put in a good word to the Queen too?

Couldn't hurt. Wink

I had an agent at the Columbus airport attempting to make contact with
Flynn and Jonah based on a few tips I received. I was surprised myself.
Unfortunately, my contact missed them. He found their trail though. I
find it amazing that, in a stressful situation like this, they felt the
need to stop for a lunch...

To bad he didn't get their in time though. It looks like I didn't move
quite fast enough.

Regardless, I hope this information will bolster the passengers'
understanding of my angle here. Flynn is not acting in good faith to the
Queen. In my book, that only means one of two things...either he's
completely incompetent or he's betraying the Queen.

How do you and yours see it?

Alright Delilah, now I know something weird is going on. I went on to Ventrillo last night. Only about three people were on. Nikki, Fusebox, and I didn't recognize the last name (it seemed to be gibberish). When I signed on, I heard Nikki say "Flynn's going to-" Before they stopped because they noticed my presence. I asked what everyone was talking about and Nikki said it was a personal matter. The last name, the one I didn't recognize quickly signed off.

Nikki knows something and she's good at hiding it.

You can tell the others, if you like (though I would suspect you'd prefer

because he's not nearly as clever as he thinks.

Once again guys, take nothing said in these emails, on my part, very seriously. I'm just playing along and saying as little as I can. As I said - trying to be honest without being too honest, just incase it all goes to poop. She's a valuable resource...whether she can be trusted or not.

Quote:
Another day and still practically nothing.

I'm just annoyed and frustrated. I hate being in the dark. I hate feeling stupid, especially when I know I'm not and can't help thinking other people are. That could be because I'm a stuffy cow atm, but argh. Sorely tempted to send dear, sweet, Flynn and email giving him a piece of my mind...and a few other, choice terms. But that wouldn't help anything.

Anyway.

How are you?
Any updates from your way?

M.

Quote:
I didn't manage to catch Flynn I'm afraid. My lead only got me to
Columbus. He got their late. Did you know those two had lunch in a very
public place? Apparently it was with a third party but I couldn't get an
identity.

Has Flynn contacted anyone? I've momentarily lost the scent.

My evening was very busy. How was yours? I hope the morning finds you
well, Love.

D

Quote:
This morning finds me 100% better than yesterday.

Well, he's travelling slow. I know this much. I think we've all come to that conclusion. And I heard rumours about a lunch thing aswell. I mean, I'm not suprised they stopped to have lunch or anything. I dunno.

I think Jonah's contacted someone, just to say he's ok, thats what I'm getting. Other than that, nothing. Flynn's been very tight lipped about everything. I don't think he trusts us. Perhaps he trusts all of us as much as I trust him. -.-

Alot of people are talking about Edwin, but I don't know him that well. Of him. Yes. I can't say how I feel about the guy. Feel sorry for his brother though.

M.

This next one has alot of information.

Quote:

Well...the lunch thing is now passed. I'm onto planning for Vegas. If
you're in the favor-doing mood, I could use the location of the drop.
It's a big city, Love.

It's been made clear to me that Jonah or Flynn, people keeping changing
their stories here, has contacted as many as 4 or 5 of you. In the
process, I've discovered that he's aiding Jonah...not sure exactly what
that means but it sounds like meddling to me. I also know that some of
you have been given much of the details. Supposedly they're not sharing
everything. Irrelevant. The fact that there's something there was enough
for me to go digging.

But there's more...of course, I have to keep those bits to myself for now.
Someone in your crew will slip and give it to me if there's anything to
know. And then I'll know they're telling at least some of the truth.

Oh...and in other news, apparently Edwin has done something to sadden
another one of your group. Maybe you guys don't trust him either?

Sorry for the heavy conspiracy. I've made enough progress to know that
it's time to come up with a plan of action.

Delilah
