dana probably looked up in a english-chinese dictionary and just basically find words i chinese that means what she wants and put them together without caring about grammar or context.

it's like a non-english speak looking up in a dictionary and come up with the phrase "me not return back". the meaning is that but the strucutre is all wrong.

That of course would be the "normal" interpretation.

but chinese is a tonal language and maybe the phrase has a double meaning. there's a chance a friend/relative of her is chinese or know chinese we don't yet know about.

I think we all somewhat agree on the actual meaning of the chinese phrase, but we need to know how that fits in! Do we all really think it's just saying "I won't be back" in a way that officially says, "I'm off... toodaloo!" Or do we think there's something deeper. Because if we think it's just a send-off message, then we should stop here, and get back to our lives for a moment, instead of this thread. Otherwise, we should probe it deeper.

I guess what I'm saying is this: I challenge those who think this is nothing more than just a goodbye, to just leave this thread alone. You don't have to convince us we're wrong. But if there are some, like me, who think this was a message to someone in a covert way, then that's who should continue discussing this...

problem quite interesting, eh?

I can vouch for kilmar when he say that this is not a proper Chinese phrase, meaning that no Chinese speaker will put togehter a phrase like that. My point is on how she came up with the phrase, and why it sounded weird.

Now why she used Chinse? I was working with the theory that someone close to her might indeed know Chinese, and she wanted to leave a sentimental note and to appologize to whoever that would be, similar to the note for her mother. It's all SPEC of course.

So did we find the meaning to the whole message?

I think she uses mandarin because she is going to China, that she left a note of finality to end her voicemail to make it not so simple to figure out, but simple enough that it would be figured out sooner or later.

I think the idea is to build intrigue. Certainly this new voicemail is intriguing and Dana wanted us to do some "homework" so she left us a cryptic message to "decode".

Honestly, the VM would be less interesting if the mandarin portion was left out, don't you all think?

To tell the truth, since I couldn't make out the first phrase before, I was wrestling with the idea that "Wo Mei Lui Lai" is some sort of a name, like a person that she wants to apologize to. Now that you clear things up that idea doesn't seem so likely.

It's go that you came aboard too, since I would've gone insane figuring what the heck she said.

*shiver*

That was freaky.

She sounded... like she knows she's doomed.

I hope Dana doesn't die, though. She's mighty fine.

Probably trout, but I got confirmation on someone who only heard the sound clip i sent him.

"i'm not coming back, sorry" (what he believes she is trying to say)
or
wo mei liu lai, duibuqi

I think this is Dana removing herself from the game.

I feel that in the 12 days when it metasizes, we will find ourselves with multiple new sites to deal with.

Dana may pop up later, but she is probably either being manipulated by the AI or is freaked out by all of this and wants to disappear.

Would it be possible that Dana used Chinese because she thought that whoever was hacking her wouldn't understand it?

I still think she's going to die by an allergic reaction to bees:
