Reading about this event in 1969, there is a description of a large cavern created when the bomb detonated. The cavern was lined with glass because of the intense heat melting the stone.

prequel When you copy multiple files on end and then separate one out to play it (for example, if you copy multiple shows onto a DVD and divide the chapters up so that you can just watch one) you can accidentally insert the beginning of one onto the end of the other. I think that there was a slight error during the video cutting process resulting in it ending a few seconds too late and it played the first couple seconds of the next sighting (remember, the name was "multiple sightings of case designate Cloverfield" and depending on your point of view this video itself was one big ass sighting) on the list. This would mean that the government got ahold of someone's footage of the monster decades before it ever got pissed enough to figure out how to breathe air and come get us. If we're lucky some of these other sightings will be on the DVD, since I doubt all of them would be long enough to make for a decent movie.
