Hi all, this is my first game too.

I have a question for those of you with more experience... how do you know which users are real and which ones are not? There's someone called Hook who has by now disproven both videos with quite logical arguments, and both posts of him/her are named the same: "virtus quod sapentia" (valor and wisdom).

But as someone said before, maybe I'm seeing things Razz

They're a player, She (my apologies if I'm wrong) was a pretty major player throughout DC. At this point it a little too hard to separate players from characters (if there are any characters yet).

Has anyone figured out what those beeps are about? And does anyone know when the next file is being released?

Regarding Hook,do PMs ever recruit players? I ask because she is pretty much advretising for an esoteric order. Esoteric orders ARE secret societies.

Considering these PMs have recruited players in the past (in Deus City, the player Agent Lex joined the PM team after a while), you can't assume that a player is still a player based on their previous participation.

Don't even bother to try to figure out Hook. She's a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. In a good way. Smile

ten days is nothing. I have been waiting for the batman game to get back on track since december. however it does seem like a while for this game considering how fast we got the files before. Don't lose hope.

Interestingly enough, her 'esoteric order' (specifically that of the Gnostic Church of Saint John) does not exist, at least online. I have been involved in numerous esoteric orders and fields of study myself, and have never come across such a church/order; especially devoted to one who is not extremely prevalent (assuming we are speaking of John the Baptist) within the traditional Gnostic texts and beliefs.

Saint John typically refers to the author of the Fourth Gospel (the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John) rather than to John the Baptist. There is lots of scholarly disagreement as to the relationship between John's Gospel and Gnosticism. Some say it is a refutation of Gnosticism, while others see correlations between the two.

Well, I feel silly now. However, thanks for the clarification. Truly, I think that in this light it makes things far more interesting this way.

Also looks like I may need to study my Juedo-Christian/Gnostic texts/mythology a bit more heavily from here on out Embarassed .

No need to feel silly. With everybody's input, we can figure out these things.

In fact, I've been able to find information about the Mandaeans, a group sometimes called the Christians of Saint John (and their Saint John is preceisly whom you said, John the Baptizer). They view John as the most important prophet and hold gnostic beliefs. They also have a connection to the Fourth Gospel, as one of them translated its Prologue (John 1:1-14). There is a collection of their texts, translated into English in the early 20th century, at http://gnosis.org/library/grs-mead/gnostic_john_baptist/index.htm .

Some of the Mandaeans consider Jesus to be a lying Messiah, maybe fitting in with some conspiracy theories.

Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandaeism ) quotes a scholar as saying that the Iraq War has decimated the Mandaeans, their numbers having dropped from 60,000 to 5,000 during the war. Interesting and volatile information.

New video's up... looks like its assassination coincidences between Lincoln and Kennedy. Names some people posting on there too. I'm not one of them, unfortunately. Wink I wonder what the common thread is between the ones he did mention?

"Sawyer" mentioned that someone managed to track his location. Does anyone know what this is referring to?

Just for your information, the two clips used were the infamous Zapruder film (of the Kennedy assassination) and Andy Kaufman's faked "Astor film" of the Lincoln assassination. One of his routines involved convincing the audience Frederick Astor, a cinema pioneer, caught the assassination on film.

For the Zapruder film, I believe it's a version that numbers the frames -- it shows from 138 to 466.

As for the beeps, it almost sounded like two tones played at the same time a couple times in the new video.
