I noticed the countdown on the Aurora website is synced to the system clock on the user's pc. Feb 23, 2008 at 11 AM (central) is the launch time. And when your clock reaches that time the site changes to say, "Aurora is now fully operational." That is the only change as far as I can tell.

When I hear Aurora I immediately think Borealis or Northern Lights. But in the photo on the Aurora project website they show Antarctica. The South Pole's aurora is called Aurora Australis. While looking up some stuff about Aurora's I found the picture they used: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Aurora_australis_20050911.jpg

I used Google Earth to get a closer look at the spot they indicated on Antarctica and sure enough, there were some points that involved Aurora. It is probably OOG considering it was a boat from the late 1800's. http://tinyurl.com/yojeqn. But, they could have put that pulsing circle anywhere on the continent.

Spelling mistake on Junker site? Working togheter for a single objective. I can't spell either. On the projects page, what is 63/V3515.217? You can actually highlight it to copy it. Was that decoded already?

Nice finds. I figured that they'd recycled someone else's image for the background again. As far as 63/V3515.217 is concerned, I noticed that too a few days ago, but I spaced it off and never looked to see if it had been mentioned. That is the label for the Enlightenment Society on the projects page. In leet speak, 63/V3515 = GENESIS. I'm not sure if the 217 is meant to be translated, or if it goes with the Genesis bit for a Bible verse, say Genesis 2:17.

The Genesis verse certainly makes sense, especially given that ATheNA's main effect appears to be the ability to rapidly obtain knowledge.

Genesis. I guess that was obvious.

I think you are right about the bible verse "but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." And on the Junker page the project logo looks like a plant. So on that page we have a sun on one side and a plant on the other. What's in the middle? The Earth?

Here is info about the original picture. It might help decode it.
"zeppelin." Online Photograph. Encyclopędia Britannica Junior. 11 Feb. 2008 http://junior.britannica.com/eb/art-70026

When I look at that picture in Adobe Bridge it looks weird.

I thought it might contain "extra" data. I tried OpenSteg but got an error. Someone with more experience with steg should give it a shot.

Nah, you'll notice I didn't trout. Didn't feel like attaching it and links are easy to overlook, so it'll probably get noticed better now.

And it did serve it's purpose as it got me examining the image again. It had been bugging me that the hands in this picture didn't look like the sign language font hands all over the sites. I knew I recognized the skull and bomb as well. It finally dawned on me that it was some sort of wingding font that had all of the characters. Sure enough, the font was Wingdings Smile
So, I found the corresponding characters and changing the font, we magically have letters. See the attached key image for the pairings.

This gave me six letters - A I N M E G. Anagram this out and you get...
ENIGMA

So, I'd say that's confirmation that we have to use an Enigma cipher for the code in the Zeppelin image.
