Wow. Where the hell did that come from? Great idea. Good teamwork to refine the solution, too.

Sending it off to Jade, since it's his eyes we'll be commandeering...unless Slider has a fit of generosity.

You'd go, tho, right?

The "correct" coords: +28° 5' 38.33", -82° 21' 28.70"
Looks to be I-75 just outside of Tampa, just to the NE of the intersection of Yardley Way E and Warenham Dr. E. Don't know if you'll have to dig, or what. We're going to ask Slider for his input. How soon could you get out there/how much turnaround do we have to give you updated notes?

So...let's also fire off an email to Slider asking for his thoughts?

We're just having a hell of a time with this one. Twisted Evil

I submit that this is the place we're supposed to find.

yep, it's right off Valleyfield Place on a road that appears to have no name and looks to end at the place I marked with a 1 or may continue on to the place marked with a 2.

I'll take this one, if it's not too forward. Didn't he say something weird about triangles a little while ago?

It can't be a coincidence, even if the correct coordinates don't leave you out at sea.

As for why he chose to communicate with me, he probably couldn't resist a riff on the name. No one can resist riffing on my name.

Quinton, you've earned my undying affection by avoiding the Star Wars joke. Everyone is compelled to make a joke, but the General Hospital angle is a new one. You're original; revel in it.

One of our tribe, one better at this sort of thing than I am, has figured out that the message has coordinates encoded in it. Every first letter represents a number, and along with the "zero" and the "negative" you're left with +28° 5' 38.33", -82° 21' 28.70". Apparently this point is somewhere in the middle of I-75 just outside of Tampa. An initial miscalculation left us somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle, which spurred a memory of something you said to Paul which didn't make much sense at the time. You said you've "been known to know a thing or three about certain triangles". Maybe that's what Philly was aiming at with this; even though the corrected location is out of the water, it could be relevant. You never know with this sort of thing.

It's come to my attention that the source of our interest in this Phillip guy was never properly disclosed. In the spirit of glasnost, I'll clear that particular mystery up now. We found a document in a private library that shouldn't have been there, and we're trying to trace it. It was encrypted and hidden between the pages of a very old copy of the Amphitheatrum Sapientiae Aeternae. The aforementioned better brains of our operation decoded it, and it described a ritual of some kind - one of a set of three. Using that information, we figured out when and where the next such ritual would take place, and held a little stakeout. That was when we saw someone (apparently Phillip) collapse and get hauled off in a van. He dropped a matchbook with Petra's number written in it, and cutting the rest down a bit, that's how we got led down the garden path to your doorstep. We know he must have been working from a different copy of the document, but if that's true they must have a common source. Our ultimate goal here is still to find out where the Amphitheatrum document came from.

That was a bit long-winded, but I hope it helps our actions make a little more sense. We're not in the habit of stalking random guys for fun. On the other hand, we're not getting paid for this, so maybe we are. Hmm.

For some reason the juxtaposition of "Colin Cowie" and "tiny little kegs" is a jarring one. Maybe we can get some ice sculptures of swans happening up in here. It's not a party, it's a soirée!

oh shit typoxic, that's a cool letter and all, but we got the feeling with the new twist on things, we should have Jade check out the place first just in case Philly was trying to get out a message he knew that Slider/QS or whoever guards the butler's pantry wouldn't be able to figure out. It might be that when Jade goes there he will see or find something, what I don't know yet. But, now it might be race to see who gets there first. Slider or Jade. Or if there is something there that incriminates Slider in some way and he now knows that Philly has found a way to tell someone he may remove it or something. Oh well, I guess the PMs will play it like they see it.

Good letter though, just wished we had heard from Jade and Ethan first. And sorry we didn't make that clearer on the boards. sometimes we forget in chat that we need to come back here and update the boards. I blame it on being tired, but that's not an excuse. But if you haven't sent the email yet, hang on to it, ok. by the way, you can find us on Skype, that's what we have been using for chat, anytime you want to run something across the group first.

No foul on this one.
We keep sharing the wrong coordinates with all of our acquaintances.

For the record, they are:
28.097398, -82.357971 (in decimal)
+28° 5' 50.63", -82° 21' 28.70" (in Degrees, Minutes and Seconds)

lol, that's funny Rogi.

bumping again, I got to restart my computer but before I go, I was reading Jade's Autumn Country Deviant Art site and felt this had some meaning. Maybe, I'm not seeing this whole demon thing right. maybe it's not some monster under the bed but someone who could be sitting or standing beside you right now. freaky. something to think about.

Old Voices
by :devladydove7:

...shhhh...it's quiet except for the regular noises that creak and thump in your house when you're safe and warm in your bed. Everything's contained within four walls or more when just outside, the blackness presses in even though the almost full moon shines.

The moonlight absorbs into the black landscape that surrounds your home, dim shadows that hint at a presence that's always been there, but that you have long forgotten.

Old spirits...demons, devils, faeries, goblins, the old ones that mankind used to believe in rise in some long dormant memory triggered by something as simple as a single black night in October. There is no wind..only an ancient stillness in the back of your mind. The farther you walk from 'home', the deeper you realize this isn't your realm and the quiet presses in as if you're underwater.

But then you remember you don't believe in this stuff. Vampires only count numbers and advertise chocolate puffs, demons only dance with little goatees and red pajamas.

"Sure" you say, "Not real." Only...a hundred different cultures have shown their faces in a hundred different ways. They lurk in the back of your mind, psychology used to define their influence and the reason that has no reasoning behind it. The child that brutally stabs to death her grandparents only to say 'I wanted to go to the beach' as a reason. The man that gives up a good job, a wife...a life...to stab his love in bed multiple times, drive to his mother's house and stab her in an equally gruesome manner, then climbs a tower to murder several more people with a sniper rifle.

Old voices with new faces...whispering to humanity that they aren't the culprits...only the messengers.

But never fear, those are just the troublemakers speaking. You don't believe anyways because you have a bed and four walls where you don't have to look in the dark and the quiet places anymore, no matter how much ancient knowledge infuses each blade of grass or ring in a tree.

So...sleep well...

Shrug. The coordinates are kinda small potatoes in terms of information revealed to QS. It's all up to the PMs, but the larger issue might be that QS may take Luke's explanation of our interest in Philly as a contradiction of what Paul already said. It could make Paul seem even more disingenuous and conniving, maybe even a liar, since finding something in a book is much different than hearing rumors. At the very least it has the potential to confuse the situation.

Let's hope that's not the case and we don't have to make any decisions about which story to follow.

Nothing wrong here, just something we should be aware of and try to account for.

Shit, sorry. Fortunately it seems extremely unlikely that Philly didn't want Slider to have this information. I mean, he left it specifically for him; I have a hard time envisioning a scenario Philly would have planned for that would have kept Slider out of the loop and informed someone else.

This is pure spec, but Slider's attitude of disinterest toward Philly's activities really does seem genuine. That might change now, but probably not to the point of a race against time to preserve evidence. Even if there were something there that incriminated Slider somehow, I think we've made it clear that it's not him we're after and that we're not any kind of law enforcement. I'm confident that whatever's there is safe from his advances.

I'm sure he'll understand the value of keeping certain bits of information close to the chest, to continue a persistent thread of metaphor. If any hard feelings result, they won't be hard to smooth over, especially considering the circles he travels in. That is to say, secretive ones. I thought we agreed that information was okay to share? Is this another one of those chat things? I really need to be in there more often.

It's no big deal, don't worry about it. The coordinates thing was being discussed in chat. It was kind of tabled pending further discussion, none of us got around to posting about it.

The amount of detail we wanted Slider to know about our motives was probably in the thread before we got on the subject of coordinates. Seriously, don't worry about it. We'll figure out what to do if and when Slider makes it an issue.

Dammit, Mort! I was just in the process of logging off, when I saw this other e-mail.

What???????? I did not in any way, shape, or form understand how you came up with those coords from what that sweet Heather spouted at me. And I'd really like to know!

But I do recognize those digits as being in my general neck of the woods (I'm such a geoloc geek Wink ; although not so much of one that I can visualize exactly where that is down to 10 metre res.) Anyway, let me take a look when I get back to my office later tonight and I'll let you know what I think.

Are you sure you got the coords right, 'cause I'm all for a three hour tour out to the middle of the triangle... Very Happy

More soon,
Jade

This was off the coords in the middle of I-75...he should have the right coords in his inbox, too. Another hastily typed email from Jade in 5, 4...
