She was so lovely in so many ways. Each time I look at her picture the tears just well up in my eyes. I don't know where her family will find the strength to bear this. My heart is with them in their sorrow.

She fought for us and then she fought for us some more.
She had the patience to put up with me and Icarus.
She was a sibling, a parent figure, and a dear dear friend to me, and all of us.
And then they show us that she was drop dead gorgeous to boot.
24 years old. So young. She was wise beyond her years. Hell I am 28 and she seemed so motherly to me.
Trailmaster, Marika, we found out who you really were in the most horrible of ways. At some strange level, even though we never met, we will always have a place in our hearts for you.

With <3
Brian

This is my last post in the lovely sub-forum of uF known as 48 Hours in Purgatory. There is too much secrecy, too many politics and far too many unanswered questions. The PMs have chosen to make us think Trailmaster's death occurred in real life and the information points to so. As I stated earlier, if this became true, I was gone, so herein lies my resignation.

To the players: Good luck if you continue on, my sincerest apologies to any of those I upset, harmed or scarred by my actions. That was never my intention.

To the PMs: At this point whether this is real or not is extremely irrelevant. You've taken a character, a woman, that we grew to love and admire and completely demolish her. If it's fake and in-game, you have the poorest taste for writing and plot twists that I could ever fathom. If this is real, your continuing on proves you to be heartless, money hungry bastards that should be thrown in prison and kept on a short leash.

In the end, this was all a game. No matter what you're trying to promote, to us it was a game. A game to make friends, a game to play, a game to pass the time and a game to create a fantasy story in which we enjoyed. You've ruined all of that, and the continuance of this ARG is shameful. I hope when your day comes and you meet whatever higher power you believe in, they look at you and have more forgiveness than I do, because if not, eternity is going to be a living hell.

(Note: Sticky'd per Will's request.)

Icarus, I'll miss you and what you said was right. It sickens me the way we're being herded along, extremely sickens me.

My heart is heavy this morning as I look at our beautiful Trailmaster's picture. Thank you to the PMs for posting it. Once again, my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Marika Sales.

Less than two days before she left this life, she gathered us together and talked about standing with us and for us. She wanted us to make a success of our part of this endeavor. While I respect those who make other decisions, I will continue on in her memory and honor if that is what the PMs wish. And I will understand if they wish otherwise.

A special welcome to those of you who just found us here. As you can see, we are mourning the loss of our guide and friend, but it's good to have you on this journey with us.

Peace to all who share this loss.

I feel so terrible that I have not been able to keep up with everything. So many changes going on in my life these days. I do my best to read the forums everyday, but things are moving so quickly it seems.

Having said all of that, I want to offer my opinion in regards to the apparent passing of our good friend. Forgive me if I sound cold-hearted, but I believe that her death is purely in-game. It certainly would be a rather morbid plot twist, but it would not be unthinkable within the framework of the story thus far.

The poems received by some of our members clearly indicate that we all need to keep moving forward. The "Time Out" header on the 48hip website also fits very closely within the themes of this game.

I am going to go forward with the belief that the death of Marika/Trailmaster is purely in-game, until evidence leads elsewhere.

One thing I thought about last night that had me second guessing if this was real or not was that the strytllr told me in an email "to quote someone gone too soon, time will tell" this kind of got me thinking that this might be IG because TM wasnt really gone yet. we still got to speak to her in the chats. what this could have been is someone sending that out thinking TM was already dead. they might have gotten confused as to whether the part of the game had happened or not.

despite that though, I am still very sad and not sure if I will continue to play this game in full force.

TM is alive

If you would like a copy of the chat log, please PM me with your email address.

Otherwise, take it on good authority that our beloved TM will be back with us as soon as possible.

I haven't been playing this game but was informed of what happened by a friend. I was playing Nathan Cade when it ended because one of the PM's was in the hospital and the others didn't know if he was ever going to get better. They chose to end the game out of respect to him. Whatever you each choose to do is up to you and judgements should not be made. I am very sorry for the loss you are all deeply feeling right now. Death, whether real or not, is never easy. I wish I could give you all a big hug and my sleeve to blow into.

[EDIT] Apparently she is alive? I don't get how they could have spilled that on accident, but whatever. I guess I'm happy now for you guys!

As some of you may know Trailmaster wanted to speak to me directly. I have recently communed with her and she is indeed in the hospital. She's able to get on the internet via laptop in the lounge. She didn't go into details but it was an emergency surgery that saved her life. Someone phoned her bosses posing as her rep and gave them the story of her death. She's recovering well and should take the helm sometime next week.

I hope this answers questions and eases your hearts. Happy gaming.

- Tim.

Why would some pose as her rep, call her boss and claim she was dead?

If this whole deal with ICON is indeed real and not just another in-game ploy, I would imagine the douchebag playing ICON did it.
