"youtubing youtube" is not good for quality, but I think the zapruder video has some jumps, not showing some frames... but I don't know if that may be of importance at all.

And why is mr. CA suddenly revealing that "sawyer" name? Or did he mention it in another file and it just slipped to me?

Didn't he say someone called him Sawyer in the Prove/Disprove area? He's probably referring to that, and calling himself that now.

I really think it's cool how our player interactions are being acknowledged.

Transtar was the one who called him "Sawyer" in the CA forums...the name was a reference to the ever-elusive 'hero' of the Deus City alternate reality game (although characters would mention him frequently, he never actually showed up until the game's finale).

Don't worry, though -- the adoption of that name is not likely to have any bearing on this story, since that Sawyer existed 30 years in the future.

Okay, the beeps have GOT to mean something. I've got AUDACITY (a program that lets you fiddle with audio files). Thing is, I don't know how to lift just the audio from the website to my computer.

Anybody got any tips?

There's programs that let you record whatever comes out of your speakers.

I've used this in the past: http://www.applian.com/replay-av/index.php

It has a 5 minute limit on recordings though, and if anyone else has a better program for this kind of thing, I'd love to know!

This program lets you download YouTube videos to iPod, PSP, or mp3 format. Smile

w00t ... named a character (although I wonder if it was planned all along o.O) and got a shout-out Smile (its the simple things that keep me amused). But Sawyer was the protagonist of Deus City, and was famous for his hat and trench coat. I was talking about the likenesses of it with Wavecrest, and got the idea to introduce the name there. "Mr.CA" was getting on my nerves actually.

He put alot of emphasis on embedding objects in the forum, I wonder where that is leading.

EDIT: also noticed the take-down of the google ad-words...creepy (its like someone actually reads my posts *puts on tin-foil hat*)

Now that you mention it... how do you embed anything in there? I've tried the standard quoting (the one in this forum and many others), but didn't work and had to edit it out. And as you can see, there are not that many people using clickable links in their posts. From my extremely paranoid point of view, they may have some special rights to do so...
...or my html skills really suck, wich is the real case, anyway Razz

ah, and gratz on naming mr CA!

All it is HTML code, the style used here with the square brackets is pretty standard for Boards. However, since Fundi is a web design company I think they wanted to test out html commenting and feature it for any prospective buyers. You can copy and paste the 'embed' HTML from youtube and such, as for links let me know if you need a quick & easy HTML lesson.

 Playing, and Seeking a Team

I've watched all the video over and over again, seeing if any of the beep dealt with any word he said... Nothing really. I look at the AdWords, and GLP seems to be doing most of the advertizing. I know that forum quite well, I think i'm even banned from it... This is my 2nd ARG, Find815 was my first. I'm wondering if anyone wants to swap IM names, so we can work faster as a team on some of these.

Anyway, he tells us not to trust the internet, but if you take a trip to your local library, all you are going to find is dusty old txt books with 1950s rehistory in them. The trick is to find the old books. Old School books before the Department of Education. (Pre 1980s)

AIM JJRyvers

Till we meet again...

Cheers

Dr FF

mp3mymp3 is a great little program for this sort of thing. It only does audio, not video.

*wipes sweat from brow*

I've been pulling the tones out of video 3, and its a long job. I'm about half done, but I gotta be up at 5:00 am so that's last call for me.

All I can say for sure so far is that these aren't the DTMF tones for a telephone number. There's just too many tones.

anybody got a DTMF decoder? maybe it's 4 8 15 16 23 42...

Laughing

ps - nice to see a Ronulan on board.

I have noticed a pattern in the beeps. They Either happen (depending on the file) in sequences of 4 and 3 sec apart, or 4 and 5.

typically an alternating pattern with only few of the same intervals... something like

4,3,4,3,4,3,4,3,3,3,4,3,4,4

If anyone feels that it might be relavant, Ill post my findings, Ive run them through all kinds of decoding... substituting morse for 4/3/5s and also tried doing a decode on the pattern and changing the decode to morse.

Let me know and Ill time all the beeps and post all patterns
