heh, d'oh.

and yup, no go.

also gupfee - totally hear ye. this really is more of a story telling than a 'game' with things to do... and it's quite drawn out. Though if it's intended to run episodic alongside the show rather than self-contained, then it'll be much like heroes to a degree... lots of wait time.

I'm still hoping though that this isn't supposed to be running the same date/time as the tv show, because they're supposedly in '07, and this is '08. So it should be relatively self-contained. Thus not so drawn out like this, unless they have a really short plot... still.

as for the strike, they're saying 4 more episodes done, possibly more, but a potential finale March 3. Confused

Well, I'm an idiot.

Here I am complaining that a "0" added works... when a "1" added works as well so long as you reduce some other number by one. That's why the Liberty Ship Way location works; because the longitude is in the 100s and, thus, has an extra digit.

So we ARE looking for a second location with longitude in the 100s.

Either that or we're not supposed to be entering coordinates in the first place, but considering we've matched 5 out of 6 I don't think that's likely.

I could do with a bit more story, actually. Puzzles interest me only insofar as they advance the plot, and this coordinates puzzle has just consumed so much game time that I'm afraid when we do break thru it, it will be veering into "drink your Ovaltine" territory.

It would be nice if there were something else to chew on while the math nerds tangle with coordinates. Wink

I've really loved the tachyon picture submissions and the videos from the research team. And we could have used some more reaction from the characters to Mike's death, IMO. But I am enjoying it overall, don't get me wrong. I'm just afraid we're losing people who are not interested in working so slavishly on this one puzzle.

On a currently unrelated note, I haven't gone through every page on this thread, but out of curiosity I went back to the "takebackthefuture.com" site based on the information in the Wiki.

The Wiki states that the last number remains fixed; it doesn't. On 1/30 it ended at 1206, and today it ended at 1192. Considering that there have been 14 days since those two entries, one can assume that it is in fact a counter to a specific date, in this case May 20th, 2011.

That date, or near to it, ring a bell with anyone?

-=O=-

As for this puzzle, I have pending messages with Dyson and with The Resistance. If they see we're missing something, I'm sure they'll give us some direction.

yeah thanks for the h'up... should reword that. Fixed as in it remains on screen, not that it doesn't count.

and gup - agreed; I think the pacing of all this is definitely losing some interest; or at the very least, not gaining any. When all the major happenings are through uf folk, and there's not too many active here already relatively speaking, well someone's gotta rework the PR plans... Razz

Gupfee, I agree with you. If this does wind up being remembered for boring people with this puzzle, I'll agree to a point, but I think they just want us to wait, or there is a problem with the code. At least there were some great desktop wallpapers, like the centurion one.

Message from Dyson Trust:

I think Mike was on the wrong trail...

Consider who gave us the neural network diagrams. What did they want us to predict? Weren't they most likely the ones who planted the camera devices? If it was predictive about their behaviour it would only tell us locations where they might go. I think they're looking to predict something else.

Guh... huh?

I and a few of our researchers took a look at your notes from yesterday and I think it's important to notice the following mistakes.

34.046935,-118.250688 is NOT where the Granada Hills camera was recovered, that was where the photo was taken by Steve. He sent us the coordinates.

37.862577,-122.492763 is not a coffee shop, but rather our own Enitech offices.

What do these locations have in common? The bank photographed by Steve, the NY device location, our own Enitech offices?

methinks they are getting frustrated with us Razz
to note: I quoted the coordinates, and mis-quoted the 4th as the coffee shop location rather than Enitech's office. Don't know how they thought I referred to them all as camera locations though, I did specifically say camera photo locations. oh well.

So what then is the commonality between all the matched GPS locations?

1) 34.046935,-118.250688 LA
- Steve's photo of the bank that was destroyed, processed, including a RESIST symbol, given by vpisteve through Mike's notes

2) 40.714924,-73.991906 NY
- Location of the photo Zolan took in NY, processed, including a RESIST symbol (though the above email says camera location), given via Mike's notes

3) 37.947057,-122.570434 SF
- Location of Enitech's original camera with the punchcards? (perhaps one of their initial processed test photo locations) given via Mike's notes

4) 37.862577,-122.492763 SF
- Location of Enitech's offices (perhaps where Jake's test photo was taken), given us in a Dyson email

5) ??

6) 37.894244,-122.528222 SF
- Location of the building Jake's going to be murdered in, given via the resistance in the future murder scene photo through Mike's notes

...so yeah

Has anybody tried drawing these locations on a map and seeing if the any of the connecting lines intersect at some location?

Do I decided to ask who Cromartie was, and sent an email to THe Ristance and got this:

Quote:
Cromartie is the Terminator model that pursued John and Sarah Connor into a bank in Los Angeles many years ago. I believe someone from the Gardner Project took a photo of that bank.

EDIT I replied asking if it was an outsider or an Enitech member, and got this:
Quote:
An outsider. He gave the coordinates of the bank when he sent them the photograph.

ok, another response:

resistance wrote:
The stronghold location is not what is needed. Track the progress of SkyNet Terminators and you can predict their movement

so each of these are locations a T888 has been:

1) 34.046935,-118.250688 LA (the ban - Cromartie in TSCC)
2) 40.714924,-73.991906 NY (Bill - meeting Zoltan)
3) 37.947057,-122.570434 SF (On the hillside - the 2nd T888)
4) 37.862577,-122.492763 SF (Enitech's office - the T888 killed Mike)
5) ??
6) 37.894244,-122.528222 SF (Jake's murder locale - the T888 killed him there)

5 - it's gotta be the location of Anna's apartment!
