I'm not convinced that's it, but it's the closest thing we have to a match.

I guess it's sort of indicative that it's Tooman we heard on Cheyenne radio.

I also notice teh convoy appears to be coming form Miles City - considering its history, I wonder if that's symbolic.

I'm assuming the green triangles are/were missle silos.

All of the bases on the map with the exception of Thunder Mountain have had some connection to the ICBM system.
All of the green triangles that reference a base, that base had Titan, Atlas or Minuteman missle silos.
The triangles don't move.

The only problem is some of the bases listed on the map were decommissioned years ago and their silos were dismantled. A few of the air bases have been converted into private airports.

I guess the squares with dots are aircraft, but I have no guesses for the other symbols.

The Green Triangles are extensions of the base itself. Not Neccessairly ICBM silos. More along the lines of "MISSLE FIELDS". Groups of 30-50 silos each.

Lowry AFB (by Denver) is part of the US Air Force Academy.
The Only Bases seen that carry ICBM's Are as follows,
Francis R. Warren AFB in Cheyenne (180 Minuteman III's)
Minot AFB N. Dakota (2-300 Minuteman III's)
Grand Forks AFB (2-300 Minuteman & Peacekeeper ICBM's)

There are only 4 Air FOrce bases in the entire country that contain ICBM's. The three mentioned above and another in Washington State.

I am very sorry but lowery is not Part of the Academy.
Lowery was located at 39.7833333, -104.9333333
USAFA is at 39.008226, -104.888287

3 mew aircraft ont eh map, heading to the convoy it looks like. Their designation is only "3 ACR" (three aircraft?) Kinda odd they don't have anythign beyond that.

edit: they ARE headed ot the convoy, theyr'e disappearing as they pass "over" it, presumably landing.

edit2: they're headed back now, at least one of them. If the convoy was part of the ambush, coudl they be evac'ing wounded?

I have no idea. All I know is that they appeared to be searching that area, the three ACR landed, then took off. A few minutes later, the convoy vanished off the map. It was either an evac or people were blown up (which also makes no sense).

Evac sounds reasonable.

I did a little digging into the "Post Impact Filter" IP addresses.

I found a new one 636f6e766f79.info

Hex translates to "convoy".

I went to www.convoy.info and had to enter a login and password. I Started with the Ravenwood - fail. I tried the others used before, no dice. SO I canceled and it flashed a Chinese-language version of the usual "Access Denied" page. I know it was Chinese because I used FoxLingo to translate it first as Japanese, which failed, and then Chinese, which worked.

If this is IG, then we have another login and password to crack. Otherwise, can you smell the red herring cookin?

I'm guessing, since it was registered in 2001 by a Hong Kong national... WAY WAY OOG Smile

Good try, but they'd likely use the exact url, http://636f6e766f79.info since convoy.info would be likely taken.

not to say convoy won't be used elsewhere too o.- However, I was thinking they might be teasing us for calling the dots on the map a convoy Smile I sure wouldn't put it past them to dangle a string in front of the hyperactive ARG kittens.

EDIT:

However, the WHOIS on 636f6e766f79.info makes me GIGGLE.

The Patch on the NA's Shoulder in Ambush Video

The patch on the shoulder that we see briefly in the ambush video appears to be that of the 7th Infantry Division which was disbanded in 1994 and reactivated in 2001 with limited responsibility as a training unit only.
This is the link for the unit itself.
