Dont you think someone would have said that there are two of them? Maybe the general wouldve said something, or really anybody.

But the most compelling evidence comes from applying real life common sence to IM (in-movie) story.

When in the electronics store, there is quite a bit of time that HUD spends gazing at the television screen. The news result never says anything about multiple monsters, and this would have been a major topic. They would have mentioned it, plus the tag line

I love how it puts emphasis on THING in the tag line as if they knew some one was going to post a topic saying there was more than one monster.

Well, the movie is obviously giving hints throughout to what is happening, although very vague at times. I figure that the next movie will most likely have a big twist where there is actually more than one monster. I mean, if one big one has been sitting at the bottom of the deepest seas for THOUSANDS of years, there's probably going to be others somewhere.

I am sure that JJ and friends have put in small hints throughout the movie, in the form of these 'inconsistencies' between shots, so that when you see the 2nd movie, you can look back on Cloverfield and say "ohh, it was so obvious!".

Also, reading the article about the team who did the design for the city, they were harping on about how much effort they put into the detail. Pretty sure they wouldn't just make simple mistakes like having the monster look different sizes, or have a different shaped arm.

Dont waste your time man. Most of the people on here dont want to hear that there is a possibility of another monster.

Stop being hypocrytes saying there is only one monster when you dont know for a FACT. We will all have to wait till another movie or more proof.

Do you think they would say "O yeah there is more then one Monster" and ruin there Sequel? Its J.J. Abrams he likes to keep you guessing if you didnt know that by now.

Shit its just like saying there is only one God. Many people believe in many other things. Doesnt mean your right because you believe your right. Take some time and reflect on that.

There could be one there could be more than one. I never said im 100% dead on that there is more than one. I have a opinion. Im just staying I believe there is more than one but who knows maybe its just one.

Take time and read before you answer with your idiot responses.

Im refering to just how some believe there is one god some believe there is more than one god. Polytheism. But who knows who is right. There is no proof if there is one god or not. IE there is no SOLID PROOF that can show you there is more than one monster or there is only one.

econaz02 is right. You guys can't prove that there is only one monster without overlooking the discrepancies in the monster design. Also, I can't PROVE that there is two, because there isn't absolute evidence. Because there can be a solid argument for each, then there is obviously more to this than "there is one monster, end of story". Every think that with all the quotes about the 'monster', they are only referring to one of them? Mainly, the biggest most filmed one? Because throughout the movie, the focus is on it, and with all the explosions and running about, I imagine it could be very easy to overlook a much smaller monster (which killed Hud) lurking around a park.

Furthermore, the more I see Cloverfield, the more I think that the bridge wasn't destroyed by the same monster which is shot throughout the movie. The size just doesn't fit, it wasn't THAT huge.

Until there is more solid evidence, I'm sticking by the fact that because of the differences, there will be more than one monster in the 2nd movie, as a 'surprise twist', although it won't be much of a surprise at that point...
