Just because it has one explanation doesn't mean it can't have another. Smile

No of course not... Sorry dude... Didn't mean to come across rude.

Here's a transcript of the email(s) between Jason and myself in the past 5-10 minutes.

Thanks to Silverback we've been able to assatain that four of the books within that photograph can be found there... All in Radcl.Science RSL stack apparently

Hi Leyton,

Is it just Oxford that has all of those books? Is that the University library, or a public one?

Lots of questions....sorry about that. I think we need to find this thing fast, before someone else does!

J.

----

J,

No... Actually 'oddly' enough UCL does too... All on the "Science" site but not all in the same 'catagory'. I also checked out my own Universities library but only found one of the books.

And I agree we need to find it fast... Oh and btw, another friend seems to think the item could be either a Panasonic film role, as I've attached an image of, make the comparison for yourself... Or " a magnetic "key keeper" with a thumb drive inside."

I think when Jason gets the USB from the Library that "Not old, Soap" will have something to do with the password we will be needing to get the data from it.

Email update from Jason.

Quote:
Hrm. I'm not sure. I don't think it's a film roll. I guess it's hidden on the underside of the shelf, so it's probably not that thick.

I don't personally have access to the library in Oxford. Do you know someone who might be able to fetch it for us? Oh, on another note. I'm sure the message on the fax is related to the picture.

I'd recommend not checking out the place until you're sure that's where it is. Keep me updated!

J.

Firstly nice deduction Toasty (see other thread lol)

Secondly... Ok he asks about someone going to Oxford but then says not to go anywhere until we're sure.

I've been looking for nicknames for libraries and Universities with that "not old soap" tie in but am stuck...

ALSO: Can't believe no-one suggested this sooner... Maybe "Not Old Soap" isn't a Riddle/clue but an anagram?

Anyone want to help me sift?

So far, I've been able to find all of the books at the Dallas Public Library:

Nice work... Any chance of checking their cat?

J,

Silverback had an idea...

"Not Young Soap"

The Dallas Public Library is on Young street

Possible?

Hi Leyton,

I'm not really sure what I'm saying, this is far too much to try and
work out. My friends are missing, people are watching, and now we really
need to find this thing in the photo. I can't think straight any more
really.

I guess I'm just not sure if it'll necessarily be in a place that Martin
or Rebecca went to University, I mean it's possible. But I'm sure
there's hundreds of Universities in the world with those books. Right?

J.

And yeah those #s do put them in the right order.

============

Edit: Seems like we have some form of "confirmation"

Quote:
J,

Damnit... And here's me looking forward to some Jack Bauer style "undercover operative" work... (Sorry trying to keep it lighthearted)

The ref #s definitely put the books we checked out in order; so I'm gunning for that!

I'm going to speak to my contacts and see if anyone's in Dallas.

Wow. Certainly fits a lot better than Oxford.

Do you know anyone in Dallas? I know we've had some messages of support from the States.

I just hope that whatever it is...it's still there!

J.

So... Anyone from Dallas playing along?

Can we pick a thread and stick to it, please?

And is Silverback *in* Dallas?

Again... nothing in Miami... ::whimper::

*EDIT*
Dallas Library has a public catalog...

http://catalog.dallaslibrary.org/

...but it has too much traffic right now.

Night, MrToasty has linked us to 4 of the books in the pic, from the catalogue and their ref#s or w/e link them to being in the same place, in the library.

Yes, getting thread whiplash.

My gentle suggestion is that anything related directly to LocateMyFriends gets put in that thread. Anything directly related to OP stays here. Sound reasonable?

I'm kinda thinking not, considering the locatemyfriends saga is sort of taking an OP'ish tone to it now... It's looking like OP has kind of died down since the 'knowledge' of the Missing 2/3 and it's moved into us finding R & M...

I think being as it all kind of lead us here, it should stay here... No?
