I would still be very very interested even with that "ID Badge" style thing... I thought the idea of transparency with that logo was really cool. Anyway, let me/all of us know if it ever comes to fruition!
(**edit-- I'm also quite the sucker for wearing bar codes... so 70's style futuristic... )

Me like very much the badgy thing. Make it two-sided so we have script and bar code. And you know if you want to donate T-shirt proceeds to the community (less whatever taxes you might be liable for), I don;'t think people would object - maybe add to the store Colin started? Can't help ya with the copyright issues, however. Also can't help ya with that particular shirt design. VERY catchy!

Does anyone have a program that is capable of generating real (scannable) bar codes that are based on text or something, so that the bar code could actually really mean something? I think if so, we should have another vote page and decide what it should say... I know it's an 11 on the dorkometer, but it really makes a good example of how much we're into this stuff; how we're always lookin for a puzzle to solve et al.... Whaddya'll think?

I use the barcode generator at
http://www.barcodesinc.com/generator/index.php
I personally like using Code 39 (or code 3 of 9) because it's easy to decode by hand.

This is what I got (although I had to use the coding of 128-B, since it's the only one that would accept the character "e"... Obviously for our purposes, we'd remove the actual lettering from the code, so it was our in-secret... (ok, so now maybe we're at a 12 now? )

hmmm. cafepress doesn't make badges. we're back to Tshirts, caps and thongs I guess. (posters, postcards, magnets, mugs, etc etc ). Well, we can have 2 Tshirts - one for those who prefer bar code, and one for those who do not. Or one with both - front and back. If a polo - just on the front.... Stop me!

I think the "thong" idea is best. Definitely thongs for all.

Check out this barcode, using a very low-level encryption for the words "The Beekeepers and Unfiction.com" (Does anyone like this encryption style by the way, and is there an official name (for this style of letter arrangement*), or did I just make something up?

Backgrounds. Can I request a bad ass background for my work computer.
I need something that says I love bees, but is all about the mystery. Could someone slap together a pdf file so I can construct an ID Tag Myself?

Here's a "photoshoppy" one I made just now out of boredom:
Click thumbnail to enlarge ( 1024x768, 105KB )
Obvious Xbox references etc etc, standard barcode thingmajiggy (should read out "beekeepers" but I'm not sure).
Any chance of getting my hands on the bee image text effect layer for the green one? I wanna try actually making one of these badges...
