[QUESTION] What is SPDR probing for?

The SPDR is designed to rebuild and repair Melissa. It first probes arbitrary memory sectors on Dana's hard disk to determine what's Melissa and what isn't. Now that phase 1 is complete (Melissa is whole), the SPDR probes Melissa's data to make sure it is not corrupted and that Melissa can function.

This is my first post... been watching for a few days, gathering all the information that i possibly can from blogs, the wiki and here!

But, if i'm not mistaken, the SPDR isn't scanning Dana's harddrive. The SPDR's main function is to repair Melissa (The Operator/The Queen). Part of that means probing Melissa's memory banks, which is apparent in some of the output on the ILB website.

The only way Dana comes in to play, is where she tried to mend her website by deleting some files on her webserver. These files turned out to be information that Melissa was trying to hide from the SPDR, so Melissa has dubbed Dana 'The Assassin'.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but that's the feeling i get! Smile

Dilly-o, just so you and everyone else know...

If you are questioning what's already been discussed, what prevailing theory is, or whether something you've been thinking about has been discussed, please refer to the Search function first, and then the Wiki, and then write

The wiki (can someone post the link?) is a collaborative page that chronicles our struggle to put this together, but in a very organized way...

The search function will make sure you see everything you can find in this forum that has that phrase or word or whatever, so you can see if your specific idea has been brought up already...
